Goal: Find person who abandoned puppy with broken back in a field.
A nine-month-old puppy with a broken back was found covered in feces and flies in a field. The puppy had been driven to this location by her owner, who discarded the poor animal like a piece of garbage.
A bystander called the police when she apparently witnessed an unidentified woman in a silver sedan with no license plate throw a blue tote into a field. When the container hit the ground, the puppy flew out on the ground. The animal was left on the ground with a broken back, broken ribs and a broken hip, unable to walk.
According to Lanny Hall, Taylor Animal Control supervisor, “She carried the tote around the car – threw it in to the field, and the puppy flew out of the tote – and she got back in the car and left.”
When police arrived they contacted a local animal rescue group which sprung into action. Miraculously, after intensive medical treatment, the puppy (now named Hope) began to improve. While Hope has a long road to recovery, the prognosis is positive.
Sadly, the veterinarians also noted that Hope had signs of past injuries, including broken ribs which had since healed.
The person who is responsible for this horrific abuse is still on the loose. We are asking local police to devote additional resources to find and capture those responsible.

When the container hit the ground, the puppy rolled out motionless. The dog was unable to move due to her severe injuries, which included a broken back.
When rescuers began providing medical care for the puppy (now named Hope) they realized that she had also suffered past injuries consistent with abuse, including broken ribs.
As of now, no suspect has been named. I ask that you please devote all resources necessary to find and capture the person, or persons, responsible for this heinous act.

Reading this made me physically ill. I am praying this precious baby can heal and know love with a caring family. I also hope they find the garbage that did this… Unfortunately the only adequate justice would be kicking them until their back and all their bones were broken then leaving them for dead.

That woman needs finding for her own sake before she turns her warped attention to small humans. She clearly has psychological issues. Beyond that, the fear is that she has other animals in her “care” – they need finding urgently. One poster asks why a photograph wasn’t taken: maybe they didn’t have their i-phone with them – maybe they were scared they’d be seen – and get beaten up. Who knows why. But at least she identified it and gave the colour. However, thank goodness that person was there, photograph or no photograph: the most important aspect in all of this surely is the fact that someone WAS there at the right time to see what happened and found help for poor battered little Hope – and, perhaps, a future in a loving forever home.

The law should be an eye for an eye. To do this to a puppy!!! Too many people are beyond hope and even though there is a law that animal abuse is a felony many judges and lawyers are not handing down the stiffest punishments possible which in the end supports animal abuse. It is one sick world.

Woman if you are reading this, in case you are not aware, you are evil and heartless. When you don’t possess a small part of intelligence or emotion to protect a life in need of care and compassion that’s pretty sad. My advice, go get your tubes tied so no one ever has to call you “mom” because they will deserve so much more out of a mom. I dont understand, why the ‘owner’ is difgicult to find! Withhin Europe all Dogs have to be microchiped from the breeder. And the Vet must enter the number and the owner into the database. Whenever something is happening to the animal the owner can be located!

It should be made a priority to identify and charge the animal abusing lunatic who is responsible for the horrific injuries and abandonment of this sweet innocent puppy! Her next victim needs to be protected and spared her cruelty, whether another innocent animal or child, as everyone knows abusers are not limited to a single incident, but are repeat offenders, who often escalate to abusing humans!….I am relieved to hear Hope is going to make a full recovery, but she deserves justice for the unneccessary pain and suffering,both physically and emotionally, inflicted upon her by her prior lunatic owner!!
