Starving Dog Left to Die in Abandoned School Deserves Justice

Target: St. Louis Animal Cruelty Task Force

Goal: Get justice for starving pittie abandoned in shuttered St. Louis school.

As the coronavirus pandemic continues to sweep the nation, schools must make the decision of when they will reopen their facilities. As some open, one school in St. Louis, Missouri remained shut down, with its students sent to different buildings. But one soul was recently discovered roaming its debris-filled halls: a starving, trapped, and desperate Pitbull.

Thankfully rescuers saved the sweet pittie, affectionately named Teacher’s Pet, in time. But one question remains: how did he come to be trapped on the second floor of a shuttered building? Sign the petition to ask the Humane Society of Missouri’s Animal Cruelty Task Force (ACT) & St. Louis Authorities to continue to investigate!

In a video posted by Stray Rescue of St. Louis, you can watch each moment of Teacher’s Pet’s rescue. Rescuers had been called about tormented howls coming from an abandoned school building, so they came to investigate. When they looked up, they saw the Pitbull’s face peering out at them from a shattered window. He was saved.

Rescuers could tell from the number of feces that Teacher’s Pet had stayed mainly in one classroom. That and his emaciated state alerted them to the fact that he had been trapped there for far too long.

Other than “the shattered remains of a first-floor window…on the other side of [which] was a 12-foot drop,” it was impossible for Teacher’s Pet to have gotten into the building without being “deliberately dumped.” Rescuers themselves had a difficult time getting in to save him, and he hadn’t suffered any injuries like cuts or broken bones from a fall. St. Louis’ ACT must work with local authorities to find out who abandoned him to die, and stop them from harming any other animals.

Sign the petition to make sure that no other animals are left like Teacher’s Pet was.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear St. Louis ACT,

A school in St. Louis, shuttered due to the coronavirus pandemic, was recently discovered to be home to an emaciated pit bull. Affectionately named Teacher’s Pet by his rescuers, he was skin-and-bones by that time but did not have any injuries to suggest that he was trapped in the building of his own accord. Rather, it appears that the only way he could have been in the boarded-up building was if he had been abandoned there by someone intentionally.

Someone left Teacher’s Pet there to die, and it was simply a matter of luck that he was found, living in a classroom on the second floor. He survived the ordeal, but there is no guarantee that it won’t happen again, and the next animal might not be so lucky.

Please, investigate this incident and make sure that you find the guilty parties and that this does not happen to any more animals.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]

  1. Agree with all the comments above. How heartless can some people be to do this to any animal? Our pets depend on us to keep them safe, fed and cared for. The inhumane creature who did this should never be around any animal or any child. This story should be on the local news in that area. Someone might know who did this to this dog and then the POS will be caught and be held accountable.

  2. Michelle Stewart says:

The bastard(s) that did this must be found & severely charged. Each person must spend 2 years in prison with no early parole, pay a $300,000 fine, and be banned for life from owning or going near any animals ever again

    • I agree Michelle! One stipulation to add would be to make sure the fine goes to animal shelters and not the Courts. This has to be one sick individual to do that to the dog…he/she could have dropped them off at a shelter….

      • Ideally those involved should be shot at dawn, they are no use to the earth so kill them off, legally or other means. Animals deserve justice

  3. Find this CRUEL IDIOT whom left this INNOCENT SHUT UP IN A CLOSED SCHOOL AND BOX HIM/HER UP IN A CLOSED BUILDINGBWOTHOUT ANY FOOD AND WATER FOR THE REST OF THEIR MISERABLE LIFE!!! ABSOLUTELY NO EXCUSE TO BE CRUEL ANY ANIMAL!!!!

  4. Christine+Nuttall says:

This evil piece of shit needs to be found ASAP and dealt with. I would love to get my hands on him/her and trust me their lives won’t be worth living. All animals are special and need to be loved, fed and watered and have a loving home.

  5. Elease M. Bradford says:

I hope, the low-down, cruel jerk who left Teacher’s Pet behind is caught and severely punished. I’m glad he was rescued. I wish him a speedy recovery and I hope he gets justice.

  6. Joan+Bunsick says:

This seems to be an every day occurrence. I know they are overwhelmed, understaffed & underpaid. I hope they do catch as many as these monsters as they can, then I hope they are prosecuted, & never allowed to own another animal again.

  7. Monica+Lee+Koski says:

The creep who did this to an innocent dog had to have known that the poor dog would suffer a slow, painful death of starvation and dehydration! That has to be one cruel, demented individual, who must be identified and prosecuted to the max for felony animal abuse, and receive some mandatory jail time @ the very least. A permanent banning from ever being allowed another animal in their lifetime, should also be implemented!

  8. The scum bags that did this need to be found and put in prison now!

  9. Evan Jane Kriss says:

Animal abandonment should be a crime! Find and prosecute those responsible for egregious animal cruelty!

  10. Find the POS responsible and lock him up and throw away the key!

  11. Some souless moron dumped a sweet, innocent dog and left him to die. They must die too!

  12. CAROLYN DOUGLAS says:

I sure hope they don’t stop looking for the evil cruel POS that committed this horror…I hope this poor baby find the family of his dreams…I also hope the abuser/killer suffers for the rest of his life…IMO

  13. Sad!
Glad the pit bull was rescued.

    Why abandon him?

  14. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING, DISGRACEFUL WICKED THING TO DO TO ANY LIFE AT ALL. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU, CLEARLY THIS IS NEVER, EVER GOING TO BE ACCEPTABLE. HUMANS COULD LEARN SO MUCH FROM ANIMALS BUT THEIR BIG FAT EGOS PREVENT THEM FROM EVOLVING…WHAT A WASTE OF A HUMAN LIFE. FOOLS. STILL, KARMA WILL ALWAYS TEACH YOU.

  15. This human MONSTER must be found and get the HARSHEST PUNISHMENT AVAILABLE. He must also be FORBIDDEN from ever owning animals again. Animals shall NOT BE VICTIMS of human sadistic psychopaths!

  16. I truly wish they caught who was responsible and locked them up and starved them….jail is too good for them!!!😡

  17. St. Louis Animal Cruelty Task Force
