Stop Torturing and Slaughtering Animals for Fur

Target: Tamara Finkelstein, Secretary of the UK Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs

Goal: Endorse ban on fur imports and sales across the United Kingdom.

A long-standing, destructive affront against animal welfare could finally be on its way out permanently in the United Kingdom (UK). In recent years, the countries of Great Britain (England, Wales, Northern Ireland, and Scotland) have placed a ban on fur farming. If a new proposal goes through, the UK could soon add abolishment of fur sales to its quest for stronger animal protections.

While certain products (such as furs from domesticated pets or seals) are prohibited from being imported, most other fur sales are still legal. Since leaving the European Union, the United Kingdom now has the authority to reverse course. Fashion designers have already lent their support to the effort. The UK government is asking for public input on potential bans for an industry that counts lifelong confinement in tiny cages and death by electrocution and gas chambers among its many atrocities.

Sign the petition below to support the United Kingdom in becoming the first large region in the world to end the promotion of these barbaric displays of animal cruelty for profit.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Secretary Finkelstein,

Death by gas, electrocution, lethal injection, and possibly even being skinned alive: such inhumane acts are often associated with past atrocities. Yet for millions of living beings, these horrors are a very modern reality. Sickening videos of torture and slaughter taking place on fur farms have shocked any person with a conscience. Every time the results of this bloodshed are displayed in shop windows, the images validate and glorify animal cruelty. Worse, the blood money given to these grotesque products enables and upholds an industry long past its place in a humane society.

You have touted how Britain has some of the world’s highest animal welfare standards. Help make the United Kingdom a true haven of humanity by at last abolishing fur sales and imports across the region.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]

You are right Gilda, I myself am a vegetarian, I don’t wear leather, dogs and cats have to eat meat, they can’t supplement their diet like humans, I’ve met people through the years that make their dogs and cats vegetarians, and these animals are always sick

  2. We should work on laws here in the US first to ban this practice and then work on the UK and countless other countries. While we may not have as many fur farms here,we have mink farms, and we still import fur and leather for shoes, purses, and clothing.

Why not address both? Or all. Have you signed the petitions regarding the fur trade in the U.S.? If not, why? It takes approximately 90 seconds of your time to sign a petition.

  3. NEVER GO TO A MOVIE WITH AN FILMSTAR DRSSED IN FUR OR NVER BUY MUSIC OF A SINGER DRESSED IN FUR. THERE DO NOT DESERVE ANY ATTENTION ON TV OR IN A FILM OR WHERE EVER.

  4. Fashion fur should be outlawed!
In addition…Is anyone else as disturbed as me reading about the funding from the NIH to torture beagles by letting them be eaten alive by sand fleas- vocal cords cut so their cries and barking won’t disturb the “scientists”?
I believe there should be zero animal testing…
Test on criminals and on animal abusers!!!

  5. Each and every scumbag who abusers animal must be put to death. It is essential that we unite internationally and exterminate these evil cretins

    • I totally agree Sue…..these animals were not meant to be on this earth to be skinned and worn by humans…..this is a very sick sad cruel world we live in

  6. Some humans should be wiped off the face of the earth.

Some of the brain fragmenting memory I have regained about the worthless satanic slum of LaCrosse, WI is that they had cages with mink in them. The minks were farmed because their tramps are so diseased their own bodies can no longer produce any thermal health. In addition to animal torture prisoners, they had tons of human torture prisoners. The haze in the air is HIV/heroine AIDS poisoning and hair has been destroyed from it. It is obscene racketeering guilt. They then sold you shampoo, cream rinse and other trash that does nothing to fight the diseases and threw the bottles in the ocean. They think they are rich for destroying everything on earth. You see what the idiots did to animals.
