Puppy Apparently Kicked and Dragged Across Ground by Owner Deserves Justice

Target: Michael L. Ramsey, District Attorney of Butte County, California, US

Goal: Ensure stringent legal consequences for the alleged perpetrator of heinous animal cruelty.

A deeply disturbing incident has shaken the community of Chico, where a young puppy reportedly fell victim to a horrifying act of cruelty. Eyewitness reports and police records outline a scenario where Roman Hackett, 39, was allegedly involved in the brutal beating of a defenseless animal. This act, reportedly occurring in broad daylight, paints a grim picture of violence where the puppy was dragged and kicked mercilessly.

Further details provided by the Chico Police Department (CPD) suggest that this was no minor transgression. Witnesses describe a scene of overt brutality: the puppy, helpless and yelping in pain, was subjected to forceful kicks and was dragged across the ground by its leash. These alleged actions, far surpassing mere negligence or momentary lapse, suggest a deliberate and disturbing disregard for the well-being and dignity of a sentient being. The physical evidence and testimonies led to Hackett’s arrest on charges of felony animal cruelty, underscoring the severity of the allegations.

The repercussions of such apparent acts of cruelty extend beyond the immediate physical harm to the animal; they signify a breach of societal trust and safety. It’s imperative that these allegations are met with appropriate legal responses to deter potential future acts of cruelty and to reflect society’s condemnation of such inhumane behavior. Call upon the District Attorney of Butte County to pursue the strictest possible legal action against the individual allegedly responsible for this despicable act, ensuring justice for the defenseless victim and reaffirming our community’s stance against violence and cruelty.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear DA Michael L. Ramsey,

I am writing to you, deeply troubled by the allegations of severe animal cruelty that have emerged from your jurisdiction in Chico. The incident involving a young puppy, allegedly subjected to inhumane treatment at the hands of Roman Hackett, 39, demands your urgent attention and action. The details reported by witnesses and documented by the Chico Police Department paint a harrowing picture of deliberate and severe abuse, where the puppy was reportedly dragged across the ground and kicked with force.

This case presents more than just an isolated act of violence; it is a stark reminder of the vulnerability of animals and the duty of our legal system to protect them from harm. The charges of felony animal cruelty brought against Hackett signify the seriousness of the allegations and the pressing need for a rigorous legal response. It is essential that the full weight of the law be brought to bear in this case, both to serve justice and to deter any such future acts of cruelty.

As the community looks to you for leadership and justice, I implore you to take all necessary steps to ensure that this case is treated with the gravity it deserves. Pursuing the strictest possible charges against the alleged perpetrator will send a clear message that our society does not tolerate cruelty towards animals and that such heinous acts will be met with stringent legal consequences.

Sincerely,

  1. Enforce max penalty on this cruel abuser including permanent ban on pet ownership and please rehome the innocent baby!

  2. Carol McLeod says:

What kind of a monster would do that to a tiny innocent animal…a monster that needs to be given the maximum sentence. Animal abuse has been linked with serial killers

  3. OH SUCH A BEAUTIFUL PUPPY. TIE THAT MONSTER OF AN OWNER BEHIND A TRACTOR AND DRAG HIM ALSO OVER THE STREETS. NO MERCY.

  4. Judy DiPietro says:

Someone should tie this piece of crap to the back of a pickup truck and drag him down the street, stopping to give him several kicks along the way. Anyone who could hurt a puppy in this manner deserves to be locked away in a mental institution he is a threat to society.

Puppies need to learn how to walk on a leash, they are not born knowing how to walk on a leash.

  5. Laura Rolder says:

Lock him away in prison for animal abuse. That poor puppy deserves justice and society is not safe if he is out free to harm others.

    • Naila M Johnston says:

AMEN!! ANIMALS MUST HAVE PROTECTIONS FROM CRUELTY, MURDERERS AND TORTUROUS MONSTERS!! STOP THEM NOW!!
      SAVE ANIMALS!!

  6. Felony animal cruelty is 7 years in prison. Make sure he gets every day of it.

Please update to let it known if this baby recovered and is safe ?These horrible stories of disgusting human sacks of shit harming these animals absolutely sickens and angers me

  10. No animal deserves to be the victim of DEHUMANIZED and DESENSITIZED SADISTIC PSYCHOPATHS!!! Crimes committed against defenseless animals are increasingly GROTESQUE because the punishment for animal abuse is not severe enough, and in many cases does not exist. A slap on the wrist is a MOCKERY of animal victims. These satanic pathological monster must be severely punished, MAX JAIL or DEATH PENALTY! He must also be forbidden from coming near animals ever again.
SET a PRECEDENT, and punish to the full extent of the law!

  11. We as a society, MUST, give these sick and sorry excuses for humans a real reason to NOT do this shit. If our Justice System would require and I mean REQUIRE these excuses for humans to receive the same punishment as what they dealt these innocent animals, alot of these would start thinking BEFORE committing these crimes. The UK and many other countries have an Animal Abuse Registry. It is time the slacking USA does the same.

    • In Brooklyn, N.Y. we have a dna list. Stands for DO NOT ADOPT. But some pos can always find a way to get a cat or dog.

    • Exactly. These bastards are just cowards anyway and would no doubt just use an innocent animal as a release for their ‘sick-minded’ problems to take their arrogant frustrations on.
The ONLY WAY to stop these ‘asswipes’ is by the Justice system bringing back ‘Corporal punishment’ and you would see animal torture and abuse diminish quite quickly.
These fuckers sure would not want a few thousand volts up their ‘jacksey’
But I doubt this will happen overnight!!
So the bastards get away with it yet again!!
If the useless law system started to find dead and mutilated bodies cast in ditches etc, they might, JUST MIGHT decide to get off of their ‘lazy arses’ and do the job they are SUPPOSED TO DO!!! Protect and avenge innocent living, feeling animals who find themselves at the mercy of warped minded pieces of ‘gutter-crap the world over!
      J.W.

  12. That poor little puppy…maximum time in jail for owner!

  13. Please do your job as Mr. Ramsey. This piece of “human” excrement deserves max prison time so fellow inmates can give him daily beatings and worse.

  14. Dump the creep in jail

  15. DA Ramsey: This horrible excuse for a human being needs to be prosecuted and charged to the full extent of the law!!! Absolutely inexcusable!!! Please wield justice for this poor innocent puppy! We are counting on you!

Also, please update us on the puppy and if he is okay, etc.

  16. Ich stimme dir zu das sind Monster.

  17. John Sammon says:

I would love to kick and drag that POS

  18. Albert C Brechbiel says:

    Kill this piece of shit
Stop giving a slap on wrist

  19. Find the bastard and fuck him!!

  20. Puppy is in care at the Shelter
