Goal: Save the cats and animals from alleged abuse at the shelter.
Macoupin County Animal Shelter has been accused of abuse by Macie Brown, a former employee who left the shelter recently after experiencing what she called “a house of horrors.” Brown says cats had blood coming out of their noses and mouths, and that these health issues went without any medical treatment, leaving the animals suffering, neglected, and sick. She also asserts there was a deceased cat on the counter in the front of the shelter. The shelter allegedly did not want to pay for the needed medical treatment the animals. Brown took some of the animals to the vet on her own accord.
A news outlet reached out to the shelter several times and their phone calls were not returned. Sign below and demand that a full investigation be done to ensure the safety of the animals.

Dear Chair Schmidt,
You must look into the alleged abuse at the Macoupin County Animal Shelter. A former employee and volunteer have released details of their experiences, claiming that many cats and animals are suffering and not receiving the medical treatment they so desperately need. Something needs to be done to help the animals.
We demand you investigate these claims and save the animals from the alleged abuse.

Please get rid of manager and employees doing this. Shelters are for safety and give help not suffer more abuse and worse cruel death. Evil needs to be punished
CLOSE THAT SHELTER IMMEDIATELY. DISMISS ALL THE WORKERS OVER THERE. NO MERCY.
PLEASE INVESTIGATE and if warranted SEIZE ALL ANIMALS; send those who are ill for IMMEDIATE VETERINARY CARE, to be BILLED TO THE SHELTER, those who are healthy to a reputable shelter or rescue. SHUT THEM DOWN. Prosecute to the fullest extent of the law for multiple counts of egregious animal neglect and abuse. BAN those responsible from ever purchasing, owning, caring for, living with or working with any animals ever again.
Reading this is very heart-breaking and INFURIATING. Thus should not be happening at any shelter. This is inexcusable and unacceptable. Replace the people who work there with responsible people who will take good care of the animals entrusted in their care. It is unconscionable and unacceptable to let any animal feel pain, suffering and TRAUMA.

Just like pedophiles like to work at daycares and schools, animal abusers seek work at shelters and rescues. All employees or volunteers need to be vetted before working.

Need to do a protest with people who live around there. Draw attention to it. Most of the people that work at county run shelters are only there for a paycheck and as employees of the county they just do what they’re told.
All the animals must be seized immediately and given to a shelter where they will be cared for properly, and then adopted out. That shelter must be shut down immediately and permanently. All the owners of that shelter must each be charged with numerous animal cruelty felonies, each person must spend 10 years in prison with no early parole, and every single person must be banned for life from owning, working with, or even going near any animals ever again. All those people must be banned for life from opening another shelter anywhere in the world
Sad. They need to take responsibility and get charged. Let’s treat animals like people when it goes to court. A life is a life.

My rescues always got the medical care needed even if I did not have enough money. Lock the owner up with the other culprits! And why did the so called authotities take so long to investigate this! Shame on you.!!

Why? Why do people have to be so cruel and inhuming to these poor sweet animals who never did anything? Because the other stupid asinine people chose not to get their animals spay or neutered. Got them from a shelter or friend or someone with a free box in front of a store or someone put them on Craigslist thought they were cute and then oh okay yeah we can’t take care of them they go to a shelter where a shelter is supposed to take care of them but not. Everyone in that shelter should be fine and they should be prosecuted. God it pisses me off that there’s assholes like this in the world.
