Don’t Let Man Charged With Dozens of Animal Cruelty Counts Adopt More Pets

Target: Transylvania County, NC District Attorney Andrew Murry

Goal: Give man prison sentence for allegedly starving animals and take away any newly adopted pets.

Rob Haas was arrested and charged with multiple counts of animal cruelty. He was released on bond only after he agreed to surrender all animals in his possession. However, reports indicate that he adopted more dogs after his other pets were seized. Any new dogs that Haas might have adopted need to be relinquished, and he further needs to spend an adequate amount of time behind bars if he is found guilty of the accused crimes.

According to investigators, 41 dogs and 12 exotic birds were taken by authorities after they found numerous dead animals on Haas’s property. Officers also reported putting many other creatures to sleep after they had allegedly developed serious sicknesses due to neglect. According to witnesses, many of the dogs’ ribs were clearly visible. Sign this petition to demand Haas be required to give up any animals he currently owns and to further insist he receive the maximum prison sentence if it is found any of his dogs died due to neglect.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear District Attorney Murry,

Even though Rob Haas was released from jail on bond after allegedly committing many acts of animal cruelty, it has been reported that he has recently adopted more animals. One of the conditions of his release was that he surrender all animals on his property. Therefore, any new animals that he may have adopted need to be immediately taken away from him. He also needs to be given a harsh legal sentence if it is discovered that any animals died while under his care.

Neighbors told authorities that they could see the ribs on multiple dogs when police removed them from Haas’s home. Twelve birds and 41 dogs were removed after many dead animals were reportedly found on his property. Other animals allegedly had to be euthanized after it was said they had incurable diseases because they were not provided with proper care. Because Haas has been charged with 43 misdemeanor and felony counts of animal cruelty, his neighbors are worried that other innocent creatures could be subjected to suffering if they are living at his residence. For these reasons, we demand you seek a tough punishment for Haas if he is found guilty of these charges and that you also insist that any other animals he recently adopted be removed from the property and found suitable homes.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]

  1. WHAT IS WRONG WITH NORTH CAROLINA????? HOW is this depraved mutant not in prison, much less not barred from EVER having animals??? AND WHEN do ALL animal adoptions check with the National Registry for animal abusers????

  2. Evidently NOTHING shames NC: totally lazy, negligent officials, AND citizens who look the other way while innocent, defenseless animals suffer.

  3. Anybody notice the states that seem to have the greatest reported cases of animal abuse AND officials who can’t be bothered doing anything about it??

  4. A. Gilmore says:

What is the point of even pretending we have animal cruelty laws if we don’t ENFORCE THEM. Please, put this person out of business. And, why would any shelter allow him to adopt? 90% of these horrific stories take place in the South. Why? My local animal shelter and animal control charge a fair bit of $ to adopt, conduct background checks and home inspections. They reject many applications. The police and Animal Control need strict standards. It costs nothing to say no to unfit, in this case CRIMINAL, applicants.

    • Sounds like you live in a good state!! Totally agree with you. ALL states shoukd have similar laws in place..it might cut down on situations like this one in N.C. Totally agree regarding Soutgern states..way too lax on animal abusers..I live in Alabama..formerly from N. J. Northern states have better laws regarding animals..down here…sooo many animals roaming, getting loose. etc

  5. Rose Coffey says:

What kind of a judicial system do we have in this country? I always laugh when I hear people complain about other people not respecting the law officials. Now why would that be? This guy should never have been let out of jail, much less be allowed to own other animals. And the court allowed this? Really?

  6. Authorities need to get ahead of this guy: no more injured or dead animals because HE IS NOT ALLOWED TO HAVE ANY AND IS CHECKED IF HE TRIES. Take animal suffering seriously!

  7. This jerk needs to be sitting in prison due to FELONY ANIMAL ABUSE CHARGES!! While he’s there, he shouldn’t be fed or provided any medical care. North Caolina needs to adhere to Federal laws and hold ignorant animal abusers to tge letter of the law!!😡😡😡😡

  8. First of all, what ever happened to animal abuse law being a felony now? Secondly, how could any state allow anyone convicted of this crime get more animals? Is the state of North Carolina as sick as it’s animal abusers?

  9. tammy KRAUS says:

this piece of shit should be shot along with the dumb fucks that allow him to keep adopting.
What the fuck planet are these sub humans on?? The stupidity is absolutely mind blowing.

  10. Sadistic brute. Why is he allowed to torture more innocent souls. The authorities should put an end to it.

  11. When lowlife bottom feeding scumbag trash have their animals seized due to abuse torture and or killing they need to be AUTOMATICALKY banned from ever having animals again. And if found in possession of any animal again.they need to AUTOMATICALLY go to jail for no less than 5 years. And pay a hefty fine. Anything less is inexcusable for the safety and lives of innocent animals.

  12. Shirley Lemieux says:

Given the history of severe abuse and neglect and death of animals, Rob Haas, may accumulate more animals under his care in the future. Given the severity of his past crime, he should not be able to own any pets in the future. He should also be required to pay any and all medical care to the animals that were seized.

  13. Christian says:

First of all, you can always see the ribs on coonhound. If you can’t, they are unhealthy. I’m sure that’s what he was rescuing. Which, if anyone did care to research, I am pretty sure this guy was doing rescue. He was probably set up by another rescue. Almost every time you hear one of these stories now, it’s all B.S. and one rescue is closer to animal control than another so they get the other rescue taken down. It’s usually about money. You’ll never hear the real story in these click bait news articles.

  14. Well it’s North Carolina so Im not hopeful anything will be done about this guy. This is a state where bears are missing paws all over the place because of their prolific use of snares and traps and they just keep putting out more. This man is dangerous to animals, he should be permanently barred from owning or being in contact with animals. Better laws, any type of enforcement and citizens who care are key here. Please, NC, prove me wrong and take care of this.

  15. Nena Miller says:

This depraved psycho likes starving these animals, he enjoys the torture. Put this useless asshole in prison! No animals near him EVER.

  16. I agree with most of the people who have spoken up about this POS. Rob Haas should never be in the company of animals, let alone having them in his possession. He needs to be locked up for a very long time. What is wrong with the authorities in North Carolina? I am so sick of the mean, rude, ignorant people in the South. So many treat their animals so poorly, it’s heartbreaking

  17. Carolyn Douglas says:

This evil cruel punk needs to spend the rest of his life securely locked in a small steel animal cage with next to no food and never let out for anything….IMO

  18. DON’T LET THIS CRUEL ASSHOLE ADOPT ANYMORE INNOCENT ANIMALS WHERE HE WILL ABUSE THEM!!! throw his sorry butt in a prison cell and ABSOLUTELY DO NOT GIVE HIM ANY FOOD AND WATER DURING HIS PRISON STAY!!!

  19. We do have law and order in America. Why isn’t it used by judges and courts? This man was horrible to the animals he had. They were taken away but this man is now allowed to adopt more animals. This makes no sense. Why is the law not enforced? At the very least, after he abused 41 dogs and 12 birds, should he be allowed freedom and also the right to adopt more pets. Why have these laws if they are not used to stop this type of person from ever hurting another animal again. Isn’t that the reason for laws?

  20. I strongly agree these animals need to be in removed asap. Please don’t let any more innocent animals suffer.
