An animal cruelty offender will serve jailtime after she kept 25 dogs and one cat in deplorable conditions. Three additional dogs died in the feces-filled house. Thank the prosecutor who fought for these helpless animals.
A Washington County Circuit Court jury found Vickie West guilty of four misdemeanor counts of animal cruelty. The shocking case, detailed in this ForceChange petition, involved dogs living in cages filled with several inches of their own feces. Their fur was saturated with urine, and many of the animals were emaciated and sick. Multiple animal rescue groups came forward, stating that West had adopted animals from different locations and later claimed they had died.

30 days are not enough. She deserves more time in prison.
100 years would be a great start. No less than that due to 3 deaths cause by manslaughter and dozens of other charges. When all are added together, the total will add up to around 100 years in prison, no parole and that is a low estimate guess.
30 days is nothing to deter her, not at all. How many more animals will have to suffer and die before she gets a real sentence?
She should go on a animal registry and NEVER be alliwed to have any animals again! She is a sick piece of shit!

Sorry – token penalty only. The PA shred away from imposing the most severe penalty – why? I’m not thanking an arsehole like that for his inaction. Needs to go to law school and be re-educated, esp in what the community wants in sentencing of criminal als.
SOFT PUNISHMENT IS UNACCEPTABLE AND ENABLING! BEING RESPONSIBLE FOR SUFFERING AND DEATH SHOULD HAVE HAD A GREATER IMPACT TO WARRANT PUNISHMENT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT. THERE ARE TOO MANY CASES THAT NEVER REALIZE DUE JUSTICE. IT IS APPARENT IN OUR SYSTEMS, THAT PERPETRATORS ARE GIVEN FAR GREATER SYMPATHY AND COMPASSION THAN THE UNFORTUNATE VICTIMS.

Matt – Let me say that you are one in a million. It is about time that those people who torture and murder innocent animals be made to account for their crimes.
