55 Cats Rescued From Apparently Dire Neglect Deserve Justice

Target: Neil McLean, District Attorney for Androscoggin County, Maine

Goal: Prosecute animal neglect case involving 56 alleged victims to fullest extent.

A state agriculture agency, animal welfare agency, and local police department teamed up to rescue nearly five dozen cats allegedly subjected to neglect and cruelty. The rescue was apparently the result of an extensive investigation. Rescuers reported “dire” and “uninhabitable” living conditions at the property.

While one cat was reportedly discovered dead on the premises, 55 others were found alive. They are receiving care and treatment at shelters throughout the state. The suspects have been charged with cruelty to animals, but reports indicate additional charges could happen as the investigation continues.

Sign the petition below to call for a just legal resolution in this troubling case.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear DA McLean,

The partnership of the Auburn Police Department, Maine Animal Welfare, and the Maine Department of Agriculture in investigating and taking decisive action during an alleged animal neglect case involving 56 reported victims demonstrates how the legal system can work effectively. But true justice can only be delivered by the actions this office takes now. The suspects in this case, Jeffrey Bartos and Miranda Loggans, are facing a court appearance for cruelty to animals charges. Additional charges may seemingly be filed in the interim.

Please evaluate the facts of this case diligently and bring the maximum possible charges (and penalties) if the accused are found guilty and to have acted with malice. If mental health issues are determined as a contributing factor in any potential guilt, please ensure these individuals receive the necessary help and that they do not have the opportunity to inflict harm on more innocent animals.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]

Those pieces of shit deserve no mercy. Did they show any mercy to those poor fur babies? No! They deserve to be locked up in a small cell and make those pond scum sucking bastards live in the same deplorable conditions they put those poor babies in. This is inexcusable and intolerable!

  2. The perpetrators deserve to be locked away with no sustenance until the die a painful death from dehydration
