Puppy Who Apparently Had Leg Amputated After Suffering for Weeks Deserves Justice

Target: Nathan Henkes, District Attorney, Ledoux Avenue, Gillette, Wyoming, USA

Goal: Ensure legal action against allegedly neglectful pet owners to protect animals from suffering.

In a heart-wrenching incident, an 8-month-old dog was reportedly subjected to severe neglect, resulting in the amputation of its leg. Allegedly, the dog suffered a broken leg during an interaction with a larger canine. For two agonizing weeks, its owners reportedly did not seek the necessary medical care, leading to a situation where amputation became the only recourse. This alleged act of neglect paints a distressing picture of suffering that could have been prevented with timely and appropriate care.

Further details reveal that a veterinarian felt compelled to contact the authorities after assessing the dog’s condition. It was then that the extent of the alleged neglect became apparent. The dog’s owners, an 18-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man, were merely warned, with no further action taken against them. This leniency sparks outrage and a desperate call for justice, highlighting a grave oversight in holding individuals accountable for such reprehensible alleged acts of cruelty.

The necessity for stringent legal repercussions in cases of animal neglect has never been more evident. The alleged negligence displayed by the owners of this dog must not go unpunished. Demand immediate and decisive legal action to ensure that such alleged acts of cruelty are met with the full force of the law.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear DA Nathan Henkes,

The case of an 8-month-old dog suffering to the point of needing its leg amputated due to its owners’ alleged failure to seek medical care is not only tragic but also an apparent indication of neglect. This situation, as reported, showcases a disturbing disregard for the well-being of a vulnerable animal, raising significant concerns about the effectiveness of our current animal welfare protections. The fact that the dog’s owners were warned with no subsequent legal action is deeply troubling and suggests a need for a more robust response to such alleged cruelty.

It is imperative that we address this issue head-on, ensuring that those responsible for such neglect are held accountable. The alleged lack of immediate medical attention for two weeks in the face of obvious distress and pain constitutes an egregious failure of care. The veterinarian’s intervention by contacting law enforcement is a testament to the severity of the alleged neglect, yet the absence of legal consequences for the dog’s owners is a failure of justice.

I urge you to take immediate action to rectify this oversight. By prosecuting those responsible for this alleged act of neglect, you have the power to send a clear message that such behavior will not be tolerated. It is our moral duty to protect those who cannot speak for themselves, ensuring that incidents like this are met with the seriousness they deserve. Let this case be a turning point in our commitment to animal welfare and justice.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]

Wyoming is a MAGA state. Right wing judicial systems don’t care about compassion.

    • Jane Ackerson says:

Anyone eating animals has no compassion.

    • Maybe these so-called Judges, recorders, briefs etc Should be the ones having a bloody good beating as well as the bastard ‘perps’.
Then maybe, just maybe the pricks would dish out justice to fit the crime!
But the ‘waste -of – spacers are scared of the ‘perps’ and would be crapping themselves for fear if any retribution!
So, back to the basics. People power and street justice to the fore to show any animal abuser and torturer the severe ERROR of their ways!
      J,W.

    • YES IT IS! I HOPE THESE LOW LIFES DON’T HAVE CHILDREN & PRAY THEY NEVER DO JUST FOR THIS VERY REASON. THIS IS AN OUTRAGE. I’VE BEEN IN ANIMAL RESCUE HERE IN WISCONSIN FOR 47 YEARS & SEE THIS SHIT ALL THE TIME UNFORTUNATELY WITH BASTARDS LIKE THESE ONLY GETTING A SLAP ON THE FUCKING WRIST. WHAT WE NEED ARE MORE JUDGES & PROSECUTERS THAT STUDY ANIMAL LAWS & DO MORE TO THROW THESE ASSHOLES IN JAIL & SEE TO IT THEY CAN NEVER OWN ANY FURBABIES AGAIN!😡

    • They never cared about anything are anyone

    • Exactly.Montana and Idaho are the same

  2. Need to break their legs.

  3. BREAK THESE 2 CRUEL AND ABUSIVE ASSHOLES LEGS AND DO NOT ALLOW THEM TO SEEK MEDIACL ATTENTION FOR THEMSELVES!!! THEY NEED TO EXPERIENCE THE EXACT TORTUROUS PAIN AS THUS INNOCENT DEFENSELESS 8-MONTH-OLD PUPPY SUFFERED!!!

  4. The fact that this horrible incident occurred and authorities in Wyoming don’t enforce stringent legal retribution for a helpless 8 month old puppy shows a cruel lack of morality and needs to be addressed ASAP. Wyoming we are watching you!!! Those kids should be jailed!!! AND NEVER LET THEM OWN A DOG AGAIN!!THIS IS HORRENDOUS. THERE NEEDS TO BE A DATABASE IN THIS STATE AND EVERY STATE OF ANIMAL ABUSERS/SEVERE NEGLIGENCE AND NOT ALLOW PEOPLE WHO CAN’T AND WON’T TAKE CARE OF THEIR DOGS TO EVER HAVE ONE

    • I’m afraid this is a nationwide problem not just obe state.Animals have no protection from harm from humans because they are considered PROPERTY in our country. What really horrified me here too is the story does not say if the puppy was taken away from the owners!….

  5. These two monsters let a baby suffer for two weeks! That’s so outrageous. What a pair of despicable freaks. They need to spend a very long time in jail!!

  6. Christine Grabar says:

They should not have gotten this puppy if they did not want to take proper care of him/her. It’s sad that poor baby had to get a leg amputated due to neglect. That couple should serve time in prison.

  7. These owners need to go to prison! They are cruel SCUMBAG POSs!

  8. GIVEN A WARNING!?! What the???? No! Rhe kind people of that town MUST protest in the street outside the police station and INSIST on a proper punishment for those two kids. That is what they are! 18 and 22 years old is hardly ‘adulthood’. They need to be taught right from wrong. And not be allowed to own pets for a few years.

  9. I agree with Jean they are kids and they needed to be taught right from wrong and have a penalty like not being able to have a pet for a few years. Vets are expensive and youth don’t think they will end up in situations like this I don’t believe that they meant to be cruel and I amsad this little pup endured this but I would not advocate jail I this case

  10. Well not sure if I and others feel that your submission is either annoying, irritating, or just plain stupid.
These are NOT bloody ‘KIDS’ and obviously know right from wrong but just could not be bothered to do anything. Just leave the pup to suffer.
I mean, if you had to walk??? (‘cripple around’) with a BROKEN LEG’ for two weeks, do you think it would not FUCKING WELL HURT????
You don’t think that they meant to be cruel you say leaving the little dog to suffer in agony.
The tossers obviously knew there was a problem so why not take the little dog to a vet- YES!!!
If they can’t afford it there are plenty of organisations who would help. As the dogs leg had to be amputated it must have been in severe pain.
I mean, would these idiots not have noticed it hobbling around on three legs and no doubt crying in pain???
Of course they would but obviously COULD NOT BE BOTHERED!
You say you do not advocate jail. So looks like you are siding with these two shitbags! Well ok, but jail would mean nothing to them. I doubt they would give a toss! This is a living feeling animal relying on these two useless buggers to look after it! And does not understand why the horrendous pain is STILL there!
There are far too many animal abusing bastards in the world right now, so really DO NOT need submissions like yours protecting them! If you stand by what you say then I SAY, keep off of here and and DO NOT insult genuine submissions by protecting the bloody ‘perps’!!!
    J.W.

    • Agree completely, Jon. These NOT children for God’s sake!! At 16 I was working full time in a responsible job, looking after horses, as it happens. No one had to educate me at 16 to take care of these animals! I knew already from a small child about responsibility for other beings in my care. These mindless morons were ADULTS and even the most brainless adult would be able to see the dog was in pain and take the appropriate action. You are right, jail would be no more of a deterrent for these 2 than it is for other animal abusers….I reckon a thorough dose of your famous coke hammer would do the trick…..

      • Thanks for backup Sister Cecily,
I am VERY sure that C.H. plus my good self would take great pleasure in teaching these two sods the severe error of their ways.
Not necessarily to eliminate them but just to make sure that they knew they had done wrong by (a) drinking through a straw for a few weeks, (b) actually needing someone to feed them, and (c) needing a wheelchair each to get around for some time!
Maybe they would learn—-or maybe not as their tiny brains would not understand why this had happened to them. But– would be a very good start!!
Although being thousands of miles away just hope that someone much nearer feels the same and is prepared to take action for any animal torture.
        Take care.
        J,W.x

  12. Someone should take these 2 bastards and cut one leg off of each and let them feel the pain plus they should not be allowed to be near are own any more animals for the rest of there stincken lives cause if those to can abuse and animals what make then think they could raise a damn kid

A warning!?!?!? A freaking WARNING!?????? ⚠️ but if this were a child, all hell would break loose. Tired of these so called “laws” that are supposed to protect animals but do the exact OPPOSITE. No excuse for this type of behavior! What type of monsters watch their puppy suffer for weeks on end!? Street justice; eye for an eye.

  17. Life sentence for bastard abusers,SOB,POS,cowards!
    Justice for puppy!
