300 Dogs Reportedly Left to Suffer With Abusive Breeder Deserve Justice

Target: Brian Kunzi, District Attorney of Nye County, NV

Goal: Punish all involved parties in large-scale case of alleged dog neglect and cruelty.

About 300 dogs who had reportedly suffered from severe neglect were seized from a Nevada property. The animals had allegedly sustained extensive injuries from being packed into close quarters. Suspects Oksana Higgins and Vasili Platunov were charged with felony animal cruelty. Yet what may seem like the end of the story could be the beginning of an even worse tale.

Recent disclosures, including obtained emails, paint a picture of potential pervasive abuse that lasted for years…all allegedly under the noses—and even with the possible assistance—of local officials. For one, the suspects, who are reportedly animal breeders–had received frequent visits because they were apparently in violation of town ordinances about the number of animals allowed on a property. A district judge’s so-called solution was not to shut down this enterprise but instead to let the dogs be moved to another region. Animal control officers then supposedly aided the relocation of these dogs to the property where they would eventually be seized and even helped buy cages and other materials.

And these allegations are not the end of the story, either. A few months before the seizure, this same animal control unit is said to have written up over 200 violations against the suspects. The district attorney, however, apparently did not lift a finger in pursuing these potential charges. Now that officials are in the hot seat, an internal investigation has suddenly been launched by a sheriff’s office also under fire for alleged inaction.

Sign the petition below to demand full and complete accountability for all parties involved in this reportedly rampant cruelty.

Dear DA Kunzi,

Oksana Higgins and Vasili Platunov allegedly put hundreds of dogs at severe risk, but according to the increasingly troubling reports they may not have been alone. Allegations have emerged that the sheriff’s office, the district court system, and even a county attorney’s office may have each played a role in perpetuating these deeply troubling circumstances. A community must be able to rely upon its legal professionals to uphold the law, no matter where the facts lead. As has been frequently repeated, a coverup can be much worse than the actual crime.

Please ensure that Oksana Higgins and Vasili Platunov are prosecuted to the fullest extent. But also hold any person who may have helped continue their alleged crimes morally and legally accountable as well.

Innocent animal victims endure severe torture and neglect only to be ignored and brushed under the rug by members of the State and Law enforcement. Things like this should never happen. Years of cruelty and abuse. It is an absolute disgrace by those who should have done something but did nothing at all. This is just one of those examples why people lose faith in our Laws that are meant to protect innocent beings.

  2. These people should be treated exactly in the abusive manner in which they hurt those innocent wee animals! An eye for an eye!! And the people that were supposed to help the animals should be FIRED or put out of office. These animals cannot help themselves & depend on use! GOD help them.

  3. Oksana Higgins and Vasili Platunov as well as the local officials that assisted them should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law for the cruelty and abuse of these animals. To relocate and buy cages for these poor dogs so that the cruelty and abuse could continue is an absolute disgrace. These breeders with over 200 violations against them should have been shut down permanently. All involved should be punished and be terminated from their jobs. They can not be trusted do not deserve to hold an office.

  4. F.H.& F.H.

Means Find him and Fuck him!

  5. The low life cowards must be prosecuted for this horrible cruelty and thrown in jail and hope the inmates put these sick demented idiots out of their evil misery. This cruelty must be stopped now.

  6. Urszula Lund says:

DEATH PENALTY for ALL animal-torturers and animal-abusers. No animal shall be starved, neglected and sadistically abused by dehumanized and desensitized psychopathic scum. ALL animal-abusing sadists must be EUTHANIZED to set an example.
Animals shall NOT be VICTIMS of mentally-deranged sadistic psychopaths.
These animals deserve JUSTICE – just like YOU and ME!

  7. Elease M. Bradford says:

Oksana Higgins and Vasili Platunov are low-down opportunist who bred these dogs for profit and did not care about their well being. It’s sad to say that the authorities did nothing about the abuse and neglect of these animals. But instead, they dropped the ball and looked the other way. These lowlifes need to be banned from being around animals and they need to be severely punished. I hope these fur babies recover and get justice.

  8. Sungoes yang says:

Ok. Enough of this crap. Oksana and Vasili need to go back to their country-RUSSIA- and let them rot to death. Personally I’m
Sick of foreigners in the US. Send these 2 useless pieces of feces out of here

    • Here here! good summing up! Kick the bastards out. Painfully.
And to the useless law and pathetic waste of space Judges, ‘ grow a pair’ and do the fucking job that you are no doubt vastly overpaid for, or get out and let someone who can and will Protect these animals from torture, neglect and serious abuse!

  9. Joseph Kenosky says:

    These animals need Justice!!!

  11. Alejandra Parapar says:

All involved in these atrocious acts of animal cruelty must be charged and sentenced ; the breeders, the sheriffs’s office, the court system , the county attorney’s office . The breeders license must be permanently revoked and never allowed them to have nor be in business having to do with dogs/pets/animals. The breeders must also pay for all medical bills that these defenseless dogs need.

  12. A society is judged on how it treats its most vulnerable. On this among other failures. America scores Nil Points.

  13. Michelle Molloy says:

Unable to sign petition. Tried several times. Won’t accept country (United States).

  15. So we keep signing petitions, while corrupt officials ignore the suffering. . .

  16. Oksana Higgins and Vasili Platunov Need to go to prison NOW!

  17. Oksana Higgins and Vasili Platunov should be executed!!
All others involved, local officials, sheriff’s office, district attorney, Animal Control staff, need to be fired, charged and PROSECUTED!

  18. There must be justice for these precious dogs. All the scum involved need to be prosecuted and convicted of the atrocious crimes on these innocent, helpless dogs. I hope there are honest people somewhere in the hellhole of Nevada that can handle the despicable abuse of all these dogs that needed protection. Put all in jail. I hope they all suffer unbearable pain for life.

  19. I cannot say how angry I get when I read about things like this. Helpless animals that needed help are ignored?. The laws need teeth but even more they need decent people to enforce the miserable few laws there are. You all disgust me.

  20. Michelle Stewart says:

Every single person involved with the cruelty and covering everything up all deserve to be shot dead
