Justice for Community Dog Beaten With Clubs

Target: Hariprasad K.K., Senior Superintendent of Police, Budgam, India

Goal: Identify and prosecute any individuals found to have beaten a defenseless community dog with heavy wooden clubs.

A disturbing animal cruelty investigation intensified after a viral video showed a group of unidentified individuals cornering a community dog and beating the animal with heavy wooden clubs in Budgam district. Public outrage prompted police to register a First Information Report under relevant animal cruelty provisions.

Special police teams are tracing the digital source of the video and working to identify the exact location of the assault. Investigators are also using facial-recognition methods and local intelligence to attempt to identify the individuals seen in the footage. Community volunteers located the injured dog and transferred the animal to a veterinary facility for trauma care and treatment. Animal welfare advocates warn that violent attacks involving blunt objects may cause fractures, internal injuries, terror, and prolonged suffering for surviving animals.

This case involves severe violence inflicted upon a vulnerable community animal unable to defend itself. Immediate identification and prosecution are necessary to help deter future reported attacks.
