Dogs Who Reportedly Died in Hot Vehicle Deserve Justice

Target: Bill Hicks, District Attorney, El Paso County, Colorado

Goal: Pursue maximum penalties against the individuals charged after reports that a dog died inside a dangerously hot vehicle while another dog suffered critical distress.

Authorities launched a tragic animal cruelty investigation after two dogs were reportedly discovered inside a hot vehicle in El Paso County, Colorado. They said one dog died before authorities arrived, while a second dog was found in critical condition suffering from extreme heat exposure and medical distress.

Investigators arrested Manuel Frias and Griselda Gallegos following the incident. Authorities charged both individuals with cruelty to non-livestock animals involving failure to provide care and the reported death of one animal. Officials emphasized that temperatures inside vehicles may become deadly within minutes, even during seemingly moderate weather conditions.

The surviving dog continues receiving veterinary treatment while prosecutors review evidence connected to the case. If substantiated, these allegations would represent reckless neglect causing preventable suffering and death to dependent companion animals unable to escape dangerous conditions.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear DA Hicks,

Authorities have made allegations involving two dogs left inside a dangerously hot vehicle, where one died and another was found in critical condition suffering from heat exposure.

Investigators later arrested two individuals and filed animal cruelty charges connected to the incident. If proven, the alleged conduct would represent severe neglect and failure to protect vulnerable animals from foreseeable danger.

We urge your office to pursue maximum penalties under applicable animal cruelty laws and ensure accountability for these alleged acts of neglect.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]
