Men Allegedly Caught Butchering Dogs for Human Consumption: Demand Justice

Target: Armando H. Cavalida, City Prosecutor of Navotas City, Philippines

Goal: Prosecute individuals allegedly caught butchering dogs and selling their meat to the fullest extent of the law.

A deeply disturbing case has emerged from the Philippines after four individuals were arrested in connection with the reported butchering of dogs and the sale of their meat. According to authorities, three of the suspects were caught in the act of slaughtering a dog following a tip from a concerned citizen. Police say they recovered chilling evidence at the scene — including kitchen knives, dog chains, a gas burner, and several pieces of dog meat — painting a vivid picture of what authorities describe as an illegal dog meat operation.

According to reports, the operation was launched after a concerned citizen alerted police to the butchering and sale of dog meat in a residential barangay. Officers moved swiftly, arriving in time to reportedly witness the suspects in the act of killing the animal. The NCRPO confirmed the arrests and stated that one suspect resisted arrest while another attempted to interfere with the lawful police action, resulting in additional charges against both individuals. The recovered evidence suggests the operation may have been ongoing, with dog chains and butchering equipment reportedly found on the premises.

The slaughter of dogs for meat is not only a profound act of cruelty against animals capable of feeling fear and pain, but also a violation of Philippine animal welfare laws. Dogs butchered in unregulated, clandestine conditions face unimaginable suffering — and those who profit from their deaths must face the full weight of the law. The City Prosecutor of Navotas must pursue the maximum available charges against all four individuals allegedly involved and send an unambiguous message that dog meat operations will not be tolerated.

PETITION LETTER:

Prosecutor Cavalida,

We are writing in response to deeply troubling reports of four individuals arrested in connection with the alleged butchering of dogs and the sale of their meat. According to authorities, three suspects were caught in the act of slaughtering a dog following a tip from a concerned citizen. Evidence allegedly recovered at the scene — including kitchen knives, dog chains, a gas burner, and multiple pieces of dog meat — points to what appears to be an ongoing and organized illegal dog meat operation.

We are gravely concerned that without rigorous prosecution, those allegedly responsible will face inadequate consequences for what amounts to a serious violation of animal welfare law. Dogs are sentient creatures capable of experiencing terror and pain, and the manner in which these animals were reportedly killed — butchered with knives in a residential area — reflects a disturbing disregard for their suffering.

We respectfully demand that your office pursue the maximum available charges and penalties against all individuals allegedly involved in this case, and that this prosecution send a clear deterrent message to others who may be engaged in similar alleged operations. These animals had no voice — we ask that you be theirs.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]
