Justice for Dogs Allegedly Found Dead in Filth

Target: David Leyton, Genesee County Prosecutor, Michigan

Goal: File appropriate criminal charges if evidence confirms that more than two dozen dogs and other animals died amidst filth and toxic conditions.

More than 60 dogs and three cats were reportedly rescued from a residential property, while another 26 dogs and one cat were allegedly found dead on the same premises. Authorities described the scene as involving “filth, toxic air and death,” suggesting that animals may have been kept in severely unsanitary and dangerous conditions. The scale of suffering, with dozens of animals allegedly deceased, has shocked the community and raised urgent concerns about potential neglect or abuse.

Investigators are examining the surviving animals and conducting veterinary assessments to determine what may have occurred. Charges have not yet been filed because evidence must meet the legal standard required in court. Questions remain regarding whether the animals were mistreated, abused, or subjected to conditions that may have caused unnecessary suffering.

When animals are reportedly discovered in large numbers amidst alleged filth and mass fatalities, thorough investigation and decisive legal action are essential. Sign below to demand appropriate prosecution to protect vulnerable animals and prevent any recurrence of such alleged harm.

PETITION LETTER:

Prosecutor David Leyton,

We write to express grave concern regarding reports that more than two dozen dogs and additional animals were found dead at a property where surviving animals were reportedly living in filth and toxic air. The conditions suggest that the animals may have endured prolonged neglect or mistreatment.

Veterinary evaluations and investigative findings will determine whether criminal conduct occurred. However, the sheer number of alleged fatalities and the described environment warrant rigorous scrutiny and, if supported by evidence, meaningful legal consequences.

We respectfully urge your office to pursue appropriate criminal charges should the investigation confirm violations of animal protection laws. Strong enforcement is essential to safeguard animals, uphold humane standards, and deter any future alleged cruelty or neglect.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]
