Chickens Allegedly Crushed and Left to Die Under Collapsed Sheds: Demand Justice

Target: James A. Singleton, Sheriff of Hempstead County, Arkansas

Goal: Ensure full investigation and legal accountability after thousands of chickens were allegedly crushed, suffocated, beaten, or left to die beneath demolished sheds.

A deeply disturbing situation has emerged following claims that thousands of chickens died after poultry sheds were bulldozed with live birds still inside. Reports indicate the structures collapsed during an ice storm, after which birds were expected to be humanely euthanized. Instead, it has been alleged that demolition crushed many animals and left others trapped, injured, or dying beneath debris.

Additional accounts claim that some chickens who escaped the wreckage were run over by heavy machinery, while others were beaten to death by crew members. Photos and videos are said to show injured and dead birds among the ruins. Company representatives have stated that actions taken were appropriate under emergency conditions and consistent with veterinary guidance, leaving the full circumstances disputed and in urgent need of independent verification.

Mass suffering of defenseless animals under potentially unlawful conditions demands transparent investigation and decisive enforcement of animal protection laws. Accountability wherever evidence confirms cruelty is essential to protect vulnerable animals and deter future alleged abuse. This petition therefore calls for immediate investigation, humane intervention for any surviving animals, and appropriate legal action consistent with the gravity of the alleged harm.

PETITION LETTER:

Sheriff Singleton,

We write to express grave concern regarding reports that poultry sheds were bulldozed with live chickens still inside, crushing many birds and leaving others trapped, injured, or dying beneath debris. Further allegations state that some escaping chickens were run over by machinery or beaten, suggesting extreme suffering among thousands of vulnerable animals.

Although emergency conditions have been cited as justification, the alleged scale and nature of the harm raise urgent concerns about compliance with animal protection laws and humane standards. Independent investigation is necessary to determine whether unlawful cruelty occurred and to ensure any surviving animals receive humane care.

We respectfully urge your office to conduct a thorough investigation, secure humane treatment for any remaining injured birds, and pursue appropriate legal action wherever evidence substantiates violations. Firm enforcement is essential to protect animals, reinforce accountability, and prevent future alleged cruelty.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]
