Justice for Camel Apparently Transported on Motorcycle With Legs Bound

Target: Dr. Emmanuelle Soubeyran, Director General, World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH)

Goal: Investigate and address the reported incident of a camel being transported on a motorcycle with its legs bound, causing apparent distress, as depicted in a widely circulated video.

A distressing video has surfaced online, reportedly showing two individuals transporting a camel on a motorcycle. The camel’s legs appear to be tightly bound and folded, causing the animal visible distress as it grunts during the ride. The exact location of this incident is unclear, though Arabic signage is present in the background. This footage has ignited widespread condemnation on social media, with many decrying the apparent cruelty and demanding action against those responsible.

Transporting animals in such a manner not only subjects them to unnecessary pain and suffering but also poses significant risks to their health and well-being. The method apparently depicted in the video is inhumane and likely violates animal welfare standards. It is imperative that this incident be thoroughly investigated, and appropriate measures taken to prevent such occurrences in the future.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Dr. Soubeyran,

We are writing to express our deep concern regarding a recent video circulating on social media, which reportedly depicts two individuals transporting a camel on a motorcycle with its legs tightly bound and folded. The camel appears to be in significant distress, as evidenced by its audible grunting during the ride. The exact location of this incident remains uncertain, though Arabic signage is visible in the footage.

This apparent act of cruelty has sparked widespread outrage, with many condemning the treatment of the animal. Transporting a camel in such a manner not only subjects it to unnecessary suffering but also poses severe risks to its health and safety.

We urge the World Organisation for Animal Health to investigate this incident promptly and collaborate with relevant authorities to ensure that those allegedly responsible are held accountable. Furthermore, we request that measures be implemented to prevent similar incidents in the future, including public education on proper animal handling and stricter enforcement of animal welfare regulations.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]

  1. I don’t care what their culture is, or if a small motor bike is their only mode of transportation, this is completely unacceptable. It also demonstrates a clear lack of intelligence on the part of these people. Even the body of the camel could have been harmed.(and may have) What was its stomach resting on, if anything. If people cannot afford or acquire a suitable mode of transport for an animal of this size, don’t get it. Personally, I don’t think it’s a matter of not finding an appropriate method of transport as much as it is their not giving a flying f**k about the camel or probably any other animal that they deem useful to them.
