Goal: Give strictest legal sentence to man who reportedly drowned trapped squirrel.
A squirrel was allegedly drowned on purpose after it became trapped. Jonathan Alfred Wilson was charged with animal cruelty after officials said he posted a video on Facebook that showed him placing a trap with the squirrel in it inside a container of water. Wilson reportedly indicated in the video that although the squirrel was running around the trap, the animal would soon be dead.
When a squirrel becomes scared, the animal immediately goes into a state of high alert and will quickly run in a zigzag manner. If the squirrel is unable to escape, the animal will stop trying to run away and freeze as a last-ditch survival effort. The squirrel that was allegedly tortured likely spent the last minutes of life terrified and stopped only after sensing an escape was not possible.
Sign this petition and demand Wilson receive the maximum sentence for this inexcusable act of cruelty if he is found guilty to make it less likely other animals will suffer and die by his hands.

Dear State Attorney Miskimins,
A video of an innocent squirrel being tortured and killed was said to be posted on Facebook by the man who allegedly committed the act. Jonathan Alfred Wilson was arrested and charged for the incident. It is important he be given the strictest sentence allowed by law if it is found he committed this unforgivable crime.
According to reports, the video shows Wilson picking up a trap with the squirrel inside of it and placing it inside a large water container. Wilson then allegedly told viewers that although the squirrel was running around, the animal would soon be “finished.”
When a squirrel faces danger, the brain immediately goes into flight or fight mode as the animal tries to escape. If the animal is unable to get away from the danger, the squirrel will immediately stop moving as a last effort to survive. The squirrel that was allegedly tortured likely suffered for minutes before giving up and taking a final breath. No animal deserves to die in such a horrified manner. If Wilson is found guilty, he needs to spend time in prison and be charged the highest possible fine to better ensure he will not harm or kill other animals. I, therefore, insist you suggest Wilson get the strictest penalty under law if it is discovered he committed this intolerable act.
