Success: Couple Who Reportedly Dragged Horse Behind Truck Face Charges

Target: Matt Karzen, District Attorney for Grand County, Colorado

Goal: Thank those who sought legal consequences in a case of alleged animal cruelty.

A man and woman have been charged with animal cruelty after a disturbing video reportedly showed them dragging a horse behind a moving truck. Many concerned citizens demanded that charges be brought against this couple, even though the Grand County Sheriff’s Department claimed the apparent cruelty could be considered “normal ranching activity.” Thank those who fought hard for justice in this case.

Thanks to the Grand County District Attorney, and those who signed this ForceChange petition, an apparently mistreated horse may soon receive justice. John Saldate, 59, and Amber Saldate, 33, have each been charged with one count of animal cruelty in the case of one horse who was reportedly hooked to a truck and dragged through snow despite persistent resistance. Though the horse only suffered minor tenderness, the animal’s apparent emotional distress was enough to merit animal cruelty charges and, hopefully, a harsh penalty will follow for those found guilty.

The horse has been seized by law enforcement and is now safe. The suspects are scheduled to appear in court in the near future. Sign below and thank the district attorney who recognized this alleged cruelty and brought these charges.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear District Attorney Karzen,

Your decision to charge John Saldate and Amber Saldate with one count of animal cruelty will not be forgotten. The disturbing video reportedly showing them dragging a horse behind a moving truck caused concern amongst citizens and animal welfare advocates. No animal should have to suffer such apparent distress, even if only emotional, as part of a normal ranching activity and this case could set a precedent for other ranchers who may use similar tactics.

Now, because of you, this horse has been seized by law enforcement and is in a safe place. Those behind this apparent cruelty may soon face harsh legal consequences as well. Thank you for standing up for an innocent animal and putting animal welfare first.

Sincerely,

Thank you for having the backbone to stand up to these jerks and for being the voice for those that have none. If it is a ranching practice, then that’s something that needs to change. Now let’s make those charges stick.

I thank those who sought legal consequences in a case of alleged animal cruelty.

A vile and evil man and woman have been charged with animal cruelty after a disturbing video reportedly showed them dragging an innocent and helpless horse behind a moving truck. Many concerned citizens demanded that charges be brought against these two vile and evil animal torturing monsters from hell even though the vile and evil uncaring Grand County Sheriff’s Department claimed the apparent cruelty could be considered “normal ranching activity.” I thank those who fought hard for justice in this cruel case of animal torture and suffering.

  9. AND THAT’S THE PROBLEM, THIS ABUSE IS JUST COMMON EVERY DAY PRACTICE FOR RANCHERS AND FARMERS.

  10. The Grand County Sheriff’s Department can stick it where the sun doesn’t shine!!!! Frickin’ a-holes! What’s “normal” to all YOU buggers is what allows torture and abuse to run rampant. Go back to the slimy planet you came from!

  11. Mary Harrington says:

thank you president trump for the pact act to make it a federal crime for animal abuse. it’s a shame the sheriffs dept consider this normal ranching activity.

  12. I don’t call them “humans”. I call them subhuman demonic refuse. The scale of pain they inflicted upon an animal that did nothing to deserve it disturbs me to no end. That picture keeps running in my mind since I saw it and makes me livid.
    rot in hell

  13. Cathy Radies says:

Thank You for charging these 2 losers who dragged this poor innocent horse behind their pickup. This was most definitely no “normal ranching activity.” What they did was out and out severe abuse. Please beyond the charges let’s see the harshest penality levied on these 2 incredibly cruel cruel people. Please will you speak for those who do not have a voice. Understand the animals they feel pain and abuse the same as humans. Do not let this horse down again. Stop the abuse. Thank you.
