Success: Man Who Brutally Stomped Puppy to Death Sentenced to 12 Years in Prison

Target: Greg Willis, District Attorney for Collin County, Texas

Goal: Applaud harsh penalty given to man found guilty of stomping a young puppy to death.

A man who threw a boxer mix puppy against a wall and then stomped on him so that he sustained fatal injuries will be imprisoned for a long time thanks to the efforts of Collin County District Attorney Greg Willis. The case drew widespread public outrage, as evidenced by online petitions like this one on ForceChange. Sign this petition to express your support for this decision, which demonstrates that animal cruelty will not be tolerated.

Andrew Callaway has been sentenced to spend 12 years in prison for having beaten and stomped a boxer puppy named Diesel so violently that he had to be euthanized. Both of Diesel’s hips and legs were severely fractured. Veterinarians had hoped to save his life by performing a series of operations, but ultimately the decision was made to humanely end his suffering.

While sending Callaway to prison will not bring back this innocent animal’s life, it is an important signal to other would-be abusers that such acts of savagery are not without consequence. Sign this petition to thank the district attorney in this case for seeking the harshest possible penalty.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear District Attorney Willis,

As you are aware, a puppy was subjected to a cruel and untimely death after a Wylie area man named Andrew Callaway threw him against the wall and stomped him to death, crushing the lower half of his body. This horrendous crime sent shock waves of grief and outrage throughout the community and worldwide. While there is no punishment severe enough to right this awful wrong, your decision to seek the harshest possible sentence for Mr. Callaway was the best way to ensure that justice would be served.

The fact that Callaway has been found guilty and will now spend the next 12 years in prison not only means that he will be unable to cause harm to any animals during this time, it also sends an important message to other would-be animal abusers. We, the undersigned, want to thank you for making sure that this act of extreme cruelty did not go unpunished.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]

  1. Thank-you Greg Willis for your command of the law. Although this wrong could never be right, your sentence brings some peace. Next time make it twenty!!!

  2. Thank you too, Force Change!

  3. Finally justice served! I hope you rot for what you’ve done to that poor puppy. Granted I wish the punishment would’ve been worse but again, great to see our legal system work the way it’s supposed to!!

  4. Terri Gnazari says:

I’m so glad he received this sentence. I just hope some other inmate slams him against a wall an stomps on his lower back and legs like he did to poor little Diesel. Run free at Rainbow Bridge, innocent little puppy. You didn’t deserve such cruel and barbaric treatment at the hands of that monster!

  5. Excellent! We also need a huge media campaign to ensure that other subhuman would-be abusers get a loud and clear message about what to expect if they commit such atrocities. And another huge campaign to alert people to identify and report suspected abuse. And what about profiling, educational programs on how to spot these monsters and educate people who know them to be on the lookout for behavior that might lead to preventing abuse? That’d be something I’d really support.

  6. Real justice for diesel the dog now. Must kill Andrew Callaway to hell now.

  7. What a perfect sentence for such a gross and heinous crime against this poor boxer puppy Diesel. Andrew Callaway is nothing but a coward who beat up a sweet creature, smaller in size, defenseless against his anger, this puppy who looked to Andrew for comfort, love and security and heinously killed this poor dog. Andrew made Diesel SUFFER on the extent of hm beating Diesel so badly. And, poor Diesel was left defenseless against this crazy monster. I bet this monster probably didn’t have remorse or sadness at what he did to his pet. So many people do these horrible things to dogs, and too many get away with it or get a slap on the wrist. We need to make sure Andrew Callaway gets exactly what he’s sentenced to. I hope he doesn’t get away with a lesser sentence. We need to let these sick people know, SOCIETY WILL NOT TOLERATE SUCH CRIMES AGAINST DOGS or any animal for that matter. And, we must also consider how many of these cases go on to hurting a human being. THANK YOU Collin County District Attorney Greg Willis for this sentence request. I and many other dog lovers are on your side and Diesel deserves JUSTICE!!

  8. I thank God for D.A. Greg Willis and those like him who bring justice in this world for those without a voice and organisations like Force Change who give people around the world the opportunity to speak out and express their feelings and to do something positive by being able to sign petitions and help bring effective change and to also bring punishment to those deserving of it.

  9. Hallelujah… justice has been served! Wish they could lock him up and throw away the key, but his sentence is fair punishment…

  10. When these lowlife slugs are found who abuse these innocent animals—why doesn’t PETA plaster their face pictures for all to see. Every dog kennel and dog sellers, dog pounds and dog rescue services should be notified of who these lowlife miserable slugs are and what they do to innocent animals.
When caught they should be in prison with long sentences and should be monitored to never have another animal in their posession.

  11. Thank You D.A. Willis! Finally someone who works tirelessly to enforce the law & gets an appropriate penalty through. Now all we need is 100,000 more just like you! May God Bless You & Your Family. I hope this Oxygen Thief has NO time off for good behavior or any nonsense like that, a sentence is a sentence. He has no place in a decent society! Don’t forget to let them all know in the “Gray Bar Motel” exactly what he’s there for!
    Thank you again…

    • I agree with all your words LJ – D A Willis deserves many Blessings

    • Amen to all you have written

    • Well said LJ. We need more people like Greg Willis in this world handing out sentences to the cowardly worthless filth that abuse animals. Let’s just hope someone gives him a great big lot of karma in prison and let’s see how tough he is then. I hope all animal abusers rot in hell for eternity. If it were up to me they would be executed.

      • So with you, Allie. No place for that scum on the planet. Plaudits to the DA for sentencing appropriately. I would use a further deterrent however. He and all animal abusers (read future, if not already, domestic violence perpetrators) need to be castrated while incarcerated. We all hope “Bubba” will administer his own kind of “love” on a daily basis while this scumbag gets his taxpayer funded 3 meals a day. I would suggest a suitable recipe but I think most would be aware of the ingredient!

  12. Quite pleased with the outcome.

  13. suzan Crittenden says:

Thank you Greg Willis for standing up for animals and poor innocent Diesel the puppy. Yes, need a worldwide media campaign to ensure harsh penalties are given to these animal abusers. Great comments by Adam Yates (Sep 29) above. Yes profile these potential abusers, report, educate. Convict.

    Well done Greg Willis.
    Go to hell Andrew Callaway

  14. Mary Harrington says:

I don’t know if the right word is courage, because I don’t how the judges rate a crime to give sentence like this one. But this is a punishment that truely should be used as an example for other judges that do not value the life of a living loving being.
So thank you from all the animals that suffer and or die at the hands of someone that should not be allowed to be around animals or people.

  15. Fantastic !! At long last Someone taking violence towards animals seriously.

Big kudos to Attorney Greg Willis.

  16. Thank you, for having the guts to do what so many others get a slap on the wrist for. Animals are sentient beings too. BLESS YOU.

  17. There is no excuse and tolerance for animal cruelty and all animal abusers needs to be punished by laws.

  18. Nadine Brundage says:

Thank you for putting this low life piece of shit behind bars. I’d like to see his fellow inmates give him what he deserves. This scum of the earth should never be allowed to walk among us.

  19. WAY TO GO !!!????. The SOB got what he deserved ?. He’s a dispicable person who is a disgrace to humanity !

  20. Greg Willis, thank you for your courage, and wisdom . I hope this punishment will set a standard , and provide an example to those who don’t value the lives, deaths and pain of innocent animals.
