Goal: Find and punish children accused of throwing a dog into a fire.
Police are looking for the people responsible for throwing a dog into a fire pit, causing severe burns. According to Katie Powell, founder of Save a Dog Network Canada, a group of children took the dog, an 8-month-old puppy named Polo, and threw him into a fire pit in Red Sucker Lake First Nation, Manitoba. She went on to say that Polo “came home with smoke bubbling from his nose. He had second degree burns on anything that wasn’t covered in fur.”
The poor dog had patches of fur missing as well as some blisters. Some of the dog’s fur melted into his skin, causing lesions. His nose, paws, mouth, and other areas were raw and severely damaged, and his eyes were left with ulcers from smoke damage. Investigators say that the pup’s fur saved his life — if he had a shorter coat, he would have died.
Fortunately, he survived the ordeal and is now recovering at the Tuxedo Animal Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba. RCMP are currently investigating, but have not made any arrests. Rights group PETA is offering a $5,000 reward to anyone who comes forward with information leading to the arrest and conviction of the people responsible.
This act was blatantly cruel and could have resulted in the death of this innocent animal. Because of this cruelty, Polo will suffer for a long time, and may have lifelong disabilities. A dog was recently thrown into a fire pit, allegedly by a group of children. The dog suffered severe burns to his entire body, particularly his eyes, nose, mouth, paws, and testicles. Investigators say that he would have died if he had a short coat — his fur protected him from a lot of damage but also melted into his skin, causing lesions.
This horrendous act caused extreme suffering to an innocent animal, and could even result in disability or chronic pain for the rest of Polo’s life. We, the undersigned, ask that you work hard to find and punish the people responsible for this heartless act of cruelty.

How sad that children did this horrible act to a puppy. They are definitely in need of psychiatric care and need to be on meds. I say find them and throw in jail or a psychiatric hospital never to be released. This poor puppy was an innocent and these children need to be taught a hard lesson. I hope they catch the bastards and throw them in jail. They don’t deserve to be out in our society.
I totally agree with you. This is so sickening. Can you imagine what kind of person they are going to grow up to be. They need to know now what they did and should be thrown in jail, or some juvenile detention facility. No normal person does this.

This is so scary that young children are lacking in compassion,heart and respect for life. They are vile,evil,cruel monsters and they must be caught and severely punished before they strike again. Children do as parents did! why can’t a family understand that these are God’s Creations for MAN to take care of in all manners of life. Help with Hunger and Health; Give them a Home and Happiness. That’s 4-H for pets!!!! Some parents–don’t give a hoot-n-holler. So other family members should step up and teach those kids a lesson! I’d take their favorite toy and set it afire.

As a child I loved animals and had a protective quality for them. I still do. I pity the children who did this because they do not know what love is, only evil. The innocent dog was protected by Angels from above as it made its way home to people it trusted would help him. My heart is broken for the dog that he has to endure this pain and also for any children whom are a waste of a human as they have no heart and are cowards for not admitting what they did.
This happened in Canada, where they are saying pit bulls are vicious?! Wow it’s not the dogs you have to watch out for, it’s your pyscho kids you are raising! Catch the little bastards lock them up and throw a way the key…

To have this happen to a puppy is unspeakably sad; dogs are so devoted and loving. These little children are immersed in evil and need serious help. I always thought Canadians were so kind….I do hope they round up these kids and put them in severe detention for a long long time….they do not deserve to be free and out in the public until they grow a heart, a soul, a conscience….and if they cannot, maybe Creator will remove them.

Honestly, if these little monsters can do such an evil thing as children they will not be any different as adults. Their targets may change. Animals are the starting point. Then it’s other vulnerable targets. Smaller children, old people, sick people, the list is never ending. Best thing to do is just take the vermin off the face of the earth. Don’t talk to me about rehabilitation, as a psychiatric nurse with 18 years experience I do not hold any hope for this lot changing their beastly ways. Get someone (hitman?) to take them out. I’m telling u as blessed healthy n stable as I am, my hearts been hardened and happiness wiped knowing that this S happens to innocent trusting vulnerable animals. I close my eyes and pray for the power to find these Fs and give them street justice I’m talking slow painful bloody and inhumane as their original action. only the very minimum to eat and drink.That means bread and water. They
don’t ever get parole or no plea bargaining. When they reach 18 put them in
prison with the hardened criminals and let them be their guardians. Lets see
