Hundreds of Chickens Allegedly Left to Suffocate in Transport Crates: Demand Prosecution

Target: Philippe Astruc, Public Prosecutor, Rennes Judicial Court, France

Goal: Pursue maximum penalties against individuals accused of transporting hundreds of chickens in conditions that caused mass suffering and death.

A disturbing livestock welfare investigation began after authorities intercepted a commercial poultry transport vehicle following reports of animals in distress. Officers reportedly discovered more than 800 chickens confined inside damaged transport crates during a prolonged journey.

Inspectors reportedly found that many birds lacked adequate ventilation, shade, and access to water during high temperatures. Veterinary authorities determined that nearly one-third of the chickens had died from apparent heat-related causes and respiratory distress before the vehicle was stopped. The transport operator and a logistics manager were detained for questioning while investigators reviewed shipping records and transport procedures.

If substantiated, these allegations would represent large-scale suffering inflicted upon hundreds of animals during commercial transport. Meaningful accountability is necessary to discourage similar incidents and protect animal welfare standards.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Prosecutor Astruc,

Authorities have made allegations involving a poultry transport operation in which hundreds of chickens endured dangerous conditions during an extended journey.

Investigators reportedly discovered damaged crates, inadequate ventilation, and numerous dead birds during an inspection. Authorities continue reviewing evidence concerning the circumstances surrounding the transport.

If proven, the alleged conduct would represent severe neglect allegedly resulting in extensive suffering and loss of life. We urge your office to pursue all appropriate penalties against any individuals found responsible and to seek meaningful enforcement of animal transport regulations.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]
