Emaciated Pit Bull Mix Allegedly Abandoned on Porch: Demand Prosecution

Target: Lee Kindlon, District Attorney, Albany County, New York

Goal: Identify individual who abandoned a severely emaciated dog tied to a residential porch without proper care.

A disturbing animal abandonment investigation intensified after a property owner discovered an emaciated pit bull mix tightly tethered to a porch railing with a short leash during the early morning hours. Surveillance footage showed an unidentified individual securing the dog before walking away and leaving the animal behind.

Neighbors discovered the trapped dog several hours later and provided emergency food and water while contacting authorities. Animal control officers observed signs of severe malnutrition and long-term neglect involving the young dog, later named Omaran. The animal was subsequently transferred to a humane society facility for re-feeding treatment and veterinary care. Investigators are currently reviewing surveillance evidence and public tips while attempting to identify the individual responsible for abandoning the dog.

Animal welfare advocates argue that abandoning a defenseless animal without adequate food, shelter or medical care may expose the animal to starvation, dehydration, exposure and prolonged suffering. Such an act would represent severe neglect allegedly inflicted upon a vulnerable companion animal left restrained and unable to escape.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear DA Kindlon,

Authorities have made allegations involving a severely emaciated pit bull mix abandoned while tethered to a residential porch without access to proper food, shelter or care.

Investigators reviewed surveillance footage showing an unidentified individual leaving the restrained dog behind before walking away. If proven, the conduct would represent severe neglect and abandonment inflicted upon a defenseless young animal.

We urge your office to identify and prosecute any individuals found responsible for this abandonment and cruelty case.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]
