Dead Cats Allegedly Hidden in Trash Bags at “Rescue” Facility: Demand Maximum Penalties

Target: William M. Gladson, State Attorney, Fifth Judicial Circuit, Florida

Goal: Pursue maximum felony animal cruelty penalties against alleged fake rescue facility where animals reportedly suffered severe neglect and death.

A disturbing multi-agency investigation intensified after Citrus County detectives reportedly discovered multiple dead cats stuffed inside plastic trash bags hidden throughout a self-proclaimed rescue facility in Floral City, Florida. Authorities executed a welfare inspection after receiving concerns regarding possible neglect involving animals housed at the property.

Investigators reportedly found surviving animals crammed into filthy cages inside an unventilated structure surrounded by moldy food, waste and dangerous biohazard conditions. Code enforcement officers later declared the building unsafe because of the extreme filth and contamination levels. Authorities arrested Jordyn Hess following the raid and filed 11 felony aggravated animal cruelty charges alongside 22 misdemeanor neglect counts connected to the reported conditions.

Sheriff’s investigators additionally allege that the facility operated under the appearance of a legitimate nonprofit rescue organization while soliciting donations online. Forensic accountants continue reviewing the organization’s finances as investigators determine the full scope of the reported neglect. The defendant remains in the legal process awaiting trial, and no prosecution has yet occurred. If substantiated, these allegations would represent severe cruelty and exploitation inflicted upon vulnerable rescued animals.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear State Attorney Gladson,

Authorities have registered allegations involving dead cats hidden inside trash bags and surviving animals reportedly confined in filthy cages inside a contaminated rescue facility.

Investigators arrested one defendant and filed numerous felony cruelty and neglect charges following the reported discovery of severe biohazard conditions and animal suffering. If proven, the alleged conduct would represent prolonged neglect and shocking abuse involving defenseless animals.

We urge your office to pursue maximum felony penalties against any individuals found responsible for this alleged rescue facility cruelty case.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]
