Dog Allegedly Shot Repeatedly With Pellet Gun During Failed Home Euthanasia: Seek Justice

Target: Brett Smith, Criminal District Attorney, Grayson County, Texas

Goal: Pursue maximum felony animal cruelty penalties against any individuals accused of attempting to kill a dog through a violent home shooting.

A horrifying animal cruelty investigation intensified after Sherman Police responded to allegations involving two men accused of attempting to kill a dog using a low-caliber pellet gun rather than obtaining professional veterinary care. Officers reportedly discovered the dog, Olivia, suffering from catastrophic facial trauma and extensive injuries reportedly caused by multiple projectiles.

Veterinary examinations apparently revealed fractures to Olivia’s jaw and nasal cavity, loss of one eye and several metal pellets embedded deep within the dog’s neck muscles. Authorities immediately arrested the two defendants and filed third-degree felony animal cruelty charges connected to the reported shooting.

Despite the severity of the injuries, Olivia survived following extensive medical treatment and was later adopted by one of the responding patrol officers. The defendants have entered not guilty pleas while the criminal proceedings continue through the county court system. No prosecution or trial has yet occurred. Animal welfare advocates argue that the shooting subjected the dog to unimaginable pain and prolonged suffering during the alleged failed home euthanasia attempt. If substantiated, these allegations would represent severe torture inflicted upon a defenseless companion animal.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear DA Smith,

Authorities have reported allegations involving a dog shot multiple times with a pellet gun during a failed home euthanasia attempt. Veterinary examinations apparently documented catastrophic facial injuries, fractures and embedded projectiles.

Law enforcement officials arrested two individuals and filed felony animal cruelty charges connected to the reported shooting. If proven, the conduct would represent severe cruelty and prolonged suffering inflicted upon a vulnerable companion animal.

We urge your office to pursue maximum felony penalties against any individuals found responsible for this alleged torture and abuse case.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]
