20 Dogs Allegedly Abandoned in Dark Home Without Water: Demand Prosecution

Target: Danny Goodman Jr., District Attorney, Houston County, Tennessee

Goal: Pursue maximum animal cruelty penalties against man accused of abandoning 20 dogs inside a dark home without water or electricity.

Authorities launched a major animal cruelty investigation after officers reportedly discovered 20 dogs trapped inside a residential property in Erin, Tennessee. Investigators say they determined the animals were abandoned inside the home after electricity and water services had been disconnected for an extended period.

According to authorities, the dogs were found living inside a dark and unventilated structure without reliable sustenance while many suffered severe dehydration, malnutrition, and dangerous physical deterioration. Proverbs 12:10 Animal Rescue responded to the property and removed the surviving animals for emergency veterinary stabilization and treatment.

Investigators allege Jeffrey A. Burris abandoned the residence before the inspection occurred. Authorities later took Burris into custody after Cumberland City Police received an anonymous tip regarding his whereabouts. He currently faces 20 animal cruelty charges while prosecutors prepare formal indictments connected to the reported neglect. If substantiated, these allegations would represent prolonged abandonment and severe suffering inflicted upon numerous defenseless animals trapped without basic survival necessities.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear DA Goodman,

Authorities have made allegations of 20 dogs abandoned inside a residence without electricity, running water, ventilation, or adequate sustenance. Investigators reportedly discovered many of the animals suffering severe dehydration and malnutrition.

Law enforcement officials later arrested a suspect connected to the reported conditions after an anonymous tip led officers to his location. If proven, the alleged conduct would represent prolonged neglect and extreme suffering inflicted upon vulnerable animals.

We urge your office to pursue maximum penalties against any individuals found responsible for this alleged large-scale abandonment and cruelty case.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]
