Justice for Dog Allegedly Forced to Run Through Traffic

Target: Jessica Kwok, Executive Director, SPCA Singapore, Singapore

Goal: Support enforcement action against the cyclist allegedly endangering a dog by forcing it to run in dangerous heat conditions.

A disturbing animal endangerment investigation began after viral footage reportedly showed a cyclist forcing a dog to run at high speed beside a bicycle through a busy intersection near Kwong Wai Shiu Hospital in Singapore. The dog appeared to struggle to maintain pace while its leash remained pulled tightly during the ride. Witnesses and animal welfare experts raised concerns that the animal’s paws reportedly struck hot pavement repeatedly in tropical conditions capable of causing severe burns and heatstroke.

The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Singapore and the Animal and Veterinary Service launched a joint investigation after the footage spread widely online. Authorities are currently attempting to identify the cyclist involved and determine the dog’s medical condition following the incident. Officials continue requesting additional witness footage and timestamped recordings to strengthen the investigation.

Animal welfare experts have emphasized that forcing dogs to run in extreme heat without allowing them control over pace or distance may create serious physical risks, including exhaustion, dehydration, paw injuries, and heat-related collapse.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Executive Director Kwok,

Authorities are investigating footage that reportedly shows a cyclist forcing a dog to run at high speed beside a bicycle through heavy traffic and dangerous heat conditions. The dog appeared to struggle while repeatedly hitting hot pavement.

Animal welfare experts warn that such conditions may cause severe paw injuries, exhaustion, dehydration, and potentially life-threatening heatstroke. If proven, the alleged conduct would represent reckless endangerment of a vulnerable animal.

We urge your organization and enforcement agencies to continue pursuing this investigation aggressively and seek meaningful penalties against any individual found responsible.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]
