Ten Dogs Reportedly Poisoned in Crude Attempt at Euthanasia Deserve Justice

Target: Jason Schmidt, District Attorney, Chautauqua County, New York

Goal: Seek maximum penalties, lifetime animal-ownership bans, and full restitution after multiple dogs were allegedly poisoned, with eight found dead in cages and others living in deplorable conditions.

Reports describe a North Harmony property where ten Samoyed dogs were poisoned. Eight were reportedly discovered dead inside cages. Two survivors and additional dogs and a cat were allegedly kept in squalid conditions, with two more dogs outside without shelter. Responders seized the living animals for urgent evaluation and care. Early statements suggest an overwhelmed owner who purportedly tried using rat poison as a crude form of euthanasia. Such conduct, if proven, inflicts terror and suffering on sensitive animals who depend on people for food, water, and treatment.

Affidavits detail emaciation, untreated injuries, and extreme neglect. Scenes inside the residence apparently tell a grim story: filth, odor, cramped crates, and animals crying or stunned. Surviving animals may carry hidden harm as well, including trauma, organ strain, and fear. This case has shocked the community, who is demanding justice.

Accountability protects animals and deters copycats. Sign below to demand strong prosecution paired with court-ordered bans, counseling where appropriate, and compliance checks to cut repeat harm. Restitution should cover veterinary triage, diagnostics, boarding, and rehabilitation. Clear outcomes will also reassure rescuers and neighbors that compassion counts, and that cruelty meets swift consequence.

PETITION LETTER:

District Attorney Schmidt,

A North Harmony case reportedly involved ten dogs poisoned, eight found deceased in cages, and additional animals living in deplorable conditions. Investigators also reportedly documented emaciation and untreated injuries. These allegations, if proven, reflect grave suffering and warrant a decisive response under New York law.

We respectfully urge your office to pursue every charge supported by evidence, seek maximum lawful penalties, and request lifetime bans on owning or supervising animals. Please also ask for unannounced compliance checks and court-ordered counseling where indicated. Restitution should include veterinary care, boarding, necropsies where performed, and agency costs tied to seizure and treatment.

Visible, consistent enforcement will protect animals across Chautauqua County and send a clear message that poisoning, neglect, and denial of care carry serious consequences. Thank you for prioritizing justice in cases where vulnerable lives hang in the balance.

Sincerely,

What a disgrace! Yes, the person responsible for neglect, deliberate cruelty and murder of these innocent animals, but ALSO the Government and Legislature MORONS who fail to ENFORCE a ban on animals being kept AGAIN and further cruelty as a result! It has already happened loads of times in the USA and will no doubt happen again and again because the law is STUPID! It is no good prohibiting someone and then letting them offend again and again! So many dogs and cats are going to suffer agony and die because of it. The perpetrator either needs a bullet to their brain OR the legislature must enforce bans! One way or the other, society demands that these animals be properly protected! The USA is fast becoming a savage and cruel place for animals.

  2. Sounds like a person who thought they could breed a few dogs for a few easy bucks and was quickly overwhelmed by this horrendously bad decision. No matter, full force of the law should prevail and all recommended actions taken; restitution for care of the still living animals, lifetime ban on animal contact, jail for the cruelty and use him as a poster boy for how to not be a breeder.

  3. This is just heartbreaking knowing the painfully slow agonizing death these dogs went through! Whoever these sick people are deserve the most severe punishment possible! This has got to be the most brutal way to slowly die possible! Life in prison in solitary confinement is too good for this scumbag! This just sickens me its just so unnecessary to slowly torture these beautiful dogs to death like this is just pure evil at work! Throw the book at this pile of garbage!

  4. so sad and sickening animals have to go through these terrible things. these people need locked up

  5. New York AGAIN! This place is constantly in the news for horrific cases of animal abuse cruelty and murder. New Yorkers where once known for their rudeness and lack of social skills, now they are known for being sick, deranged, evil demonic monsters. This state should now be boycotted by decent people until you guys get your shit together and clean up your act. You are a total disgrace

  6. DEMONS BELONG IN HELL!! 🩸🔥🔥👹

The name of the evilness that did this is Scott Humble! And you’re right, he belongs in hell – the sooner, the better!

  7. Maria Lavorato says:

Your laws don’t protect animals!! …and this is the outcome beautiful dogs and cats suffering unimaginable pain. Such a horrific way to die when there was absolutely no reason for such evil!!!!! Let him now really pay!!!

This MF needs to be force fed rat poison until he chokes to death!!!! Then he would get it!!!

I am so sorry little angels……

  8. Do the same to the scum that did this to these poor animals!!

  9. Euthanize this asshole human with rat poison.

  10. Agree all comments , laws need to change now this is not acceptable. Eye for a eye for the same to them. These cruel people dont deserve to be fed .Justice now. Whats wrong with the courts.

  11. He was a dog breeder and lawyer – with websites still active today. I’m sure he made tens of thousands of dollars selling these dogs over the years and when it became unprofitable, he disposed of them like trash. He’s a POS who needs to pay: put him in jail and make him pay back the thousands of dollars it will cost the Humane Society to care for those who were fortunate to survive. Sick of all these disgusting people abusing dogs with no real consequences.

  12. Before anyone starts shouting racist here,I’m no ‘racist’ and could not give a toss what colour they are but I’ll bet the ‘perp’ or ‘perps’ are chocolate coloured sods who always seem to be at the forefront when it comes to animal torture and murder, which is exactly what it is!
The useless Judicial system will let them go with the mandatory ‘wrist slap so no help there! All of these bastards need ‘hunting down’ and dealt with accordingly by animal activist groups or vigilantes who feel the same towards these motherfucks as do I and thousands more besides. These bastards MUST be made to feel the same fear, torture and anguish as did these innocent dogs.
As I keep saying, this is the only way these buggers will be stopped.
They must be made to know just what it feels like!! Eye for an eye treatment here. and lastly,— would I do it? You really do not have to ask!!👍J.W.

  14. Karen Smith says:

THIS IS DISGUSTING 🫣 DEPLORABLE CRUELTY TO GOD’S BEAUTIFUL INNOCENT CREATURES!!
THIS OR THESE INDIVIDUALS MUST PAY WITH THE FULL WEIGHT OF THE LAW!!!
NEVER BE ALLOWED AROUND OR NEAR OR OWN ANY ANIMALS FOR LIFE…

  15. Adrienne Kaiser says:

A bullet between the eyes of the dog killers would be just punishment. Scumbags like this have no problem killing dogs that they don’t want. They will never change, especially since judges only give these MFers a slap on the wrist.
