Dogs Reportedly Shot Dead During LSD-Fueled Rampage Deserve Justice

Target: Scott A. Broadhead, County Attorney, Tooele County, Utah

Goal: Secure the harshest lawful sentence and compulsory mental-health treatment for individual who allegedly gunned down his two pet dogs while under the influence of LSD.

A frantic 911 call led police to a home where they reportedly discovered two large dogs lying lifeless, riddled with gunshot wounds. According to arrest documents, the animals’ guardian had ingested LSD, grabbed both a 9 mm pistol and a 12-gauge shotgun, and opened fire inside the house. Officers said spent shell casings littered the floor, bullet holes pocked walls and ceiling, and the caller—terrified for her own safety—had begged for help while unsure whether the pets were still alive.

The suspect was detained outside, reportedly admitting something horrific might have happened to his companions. Inside, investigators allegedly found the dogs’ bodies, a handgun, a shotgun, and ammunition. The man now faces multiple misdemeanor cruelty counts in addition to weapons charges, yet the reported violence—two beloved family members shot point-blank—demands consequences that match the brutality.

This prosecution offers an opportunity to uphold Utah’s animal-protection laws and honor the innocent lives lost. Psychological research links animal-directed violence to broader dangers for the community. Sign below to demand meaningful punishment, a mental-health evaluation, and a lifetime ban on animal ownership to protect other vulnerable beings and to send a clear message that such cruelty will not be excused.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear County Attorney Broadhead,

Two cherished dogs were reportedly slaughtered inside their own home after their guardian ingested LSD and opened fire with both a pistol and a shotgun. Officers state they found shell casings scattered throughout the residence and bullet holes in walls, along with the animals’ bodies lying in pools of blood. Such alleged violence goes far beyond a simple lapse in judgment; it represents an act that inflicted extreme suffering and ended two lives that depended wholly on their caretaker for safety.

We recognize that your office must weigh evidence and follow due process, yet the facts described suggest deliberate, lethal cruelty. Imposing only minimal penalties would undermine Utah’s animal-protection statutes and risk future harm—to other animals and potentially to people—by failing to address the gravity of this violence.

We therefore urge you to pursue the maximum sentence allowable for each count of animal cruelty, require a comprehensive psychological evaluation with any recommended treatment, and seek a permanent prohibition on the defendant’s possession of animals or firearms. Such action will deliver overdue justice for the dogs, deter similar acts, and reinforce the community’s commitment to safeguarding all sentient lives.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]

There is no amount of ” mental health ” help that will make this better. This vile freak needs to be disposed of. 2 innocent lives are gone. What a depraved monster. Hope he gets what’s coming. Karma will settle this

  3. Dear USA

Remind me again please why it’s such a great idea for everyone in the US to own a gun.

    A drug-addict with a gun? Wow! What a combo.

And because the US gun lobby appears to be too strong for its own [and everyone else’s] good, and too many people think it’s their inalienable right to possess a killing machine, two INNOCENT DOGS die in a hail of bullets.

Tell me: what rights did those poor pups have?

All I hope is that their deaths were instantaneous.

RIP dear fur-babies: you didn’t deserve this. Play free and happy over the rainbow bridge – one you shouldn’t have crossed so soon. 🐕🐕

    • Totally irrelevant. If it had not been a gun, do you not think he would’ve used something else? A knife? A brick? It surely would’ve been much more violent with some other type of weapon. Stop blaming the gun. It’s the person.

  4. This is not a mental health issue!!!! The scumbag should be put in a cell and be given LSD until he’s not taking up any more space here on earth since he loved that drug more than his pups!! RIP innocent pups…. Damn all people who abuse, mistreat or harm animals!!

  5. This freak needs to be locked up for life- he is a danger to society and no amount of mental health rehabilitation willsave him so please don’t waste taxpayers’ money on him.

  6. Give him a couple minute head start. Better run the fastest he’s ever ran in his worthless life.
