Dog Who Couldn’t Walk Due to Severely Matted Hair Deserves Justice

Target: Michael A. Gailor. Middlesex Judicial District State’s Attorney, England

Goal: Ensure full investigation and prosecution of individual(s) responsible for the severe neglect and abandonment of an abused dog.

A small poodle mix named Chucky was abandoned on Halloween in McCutcheon Park at Crystal Lake in Middletown. Authorities believe he had not been groomed in over a year and suspect he had been kept in a crate or confined space for an extended period. Chucky’s fur was so severely matted that it took a team over two hours to shave him, and he could barely move his legs due to the thick mats.

The neglect Chucky suffered is alarming and highlights a serious case of animal cruelty. Such severe neglect not only causes immense suffering to the animal but also violates laws designed to protect animals from abuse. Punish those responsible for Chucky’s condition and hold them accountable to prevent future incidents of this nature.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear State’s Attorney Gailor,

I am writing to express deep concern over the recent case of severe animal neglect involving a small poodle mix named Chucky, who was found abandoned on Halloween in McCutcheon Park at Crystal Lake in Middletown. Reports indicate that Chucky had not been groomed in over a year and was likely kept in a crate or confined space for an extended period. His fur was so severely matted that it took a team over two hours to shave him, and he could barely move his legs when walking.

Such extreme neglect constitutes a grave violation of animal welfare laws and reflects a blatant disregard for the well-being of a defenseless animal. Allowing those responsible to go unpunished would not only be unjust but could also encourage similar acts of cruelty in the future.

I urge your office to prioritize the investigation into this case and to prosecute the individual(s) responsible to the fullest extent of the law. By taking decisive legal action, you can help ensure that justice is served and send a clear message that animal cruelty will not be tolerated in our community.

Sincerely,

  1. Whoever is responsible for this neglect needs to pay all vet bills and then spend a long time in jail!! There is no excuse for this blatant neglect.
