Punish Cop For Reportedly Shooting Family Dog

Target: Brenna Bird, Iowa Attorney General

Goal: Ensure police officer faces consequences for allegedly shooting a family dog in front of children.

A shocking incident recently unfolded in Davenport, Iowa, where police officer Ethan Bock reportedly shot and killed a family dog named Myst in front of the animal’s owners, including two young children. The dog, a black retriever-mix, was allegedly running across the yard towards the officer when he opened fire. This tragic event left the family devastated, particularly the mother and two children, who witnessed the horrifying scene unfold just outside their home.

This incident is particularly troubling as it follows another reported incident involving the same officer just a few weeks prior. In that case, Bock allegedly struck and killed another man’s dog with his police cruiser. Body-worn camera footage from that incident reportedly shows Bock telling the dog’s owner, “That’s why you gotta have your dog on a leash bro,” after the collision. These back-to-back incidents raise serious questions about the officer’s conduct and his apparent disregard for the safety and well-being of animals.

The Davenport Police Department has confirmed an internal review of the shooting incident, but such a review alone may not suffice to address the gravity of these allegations. It is crucial that the Police Chief of Davenport ensures a thorough and transparent investigation is conducted and that appropriate legal and disciplinary actions are taken against Ethan Bock. Uphold community trust, ensure accountability, and reinforce the principle that law enforcement officers must act with care and responsibility in all situations.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear AG Brenna Bird,

I am writing to express my deep concern regarding the recent incident involving Officer Ethan Bock, who reportedly shot and killed a family dog named Myst in front of the animal’s owners, including two young children. This tragic event, captured in disturbing footage, allegedly occurred on August 21 in Davenport, Iowa, and has left the community in shock and distress.

According to reports, the officer fired his weapon at the dog after it ran across the yard towards him, despite the presence of children and their mother just a few feet away. This follows a separate incident involving Officer Bock just weeks earlier, in which he allegedly struck and killed another man’s dog with his police cruiser. These back-to-back incidents raise serious concerns about the officer’s conduct and decision-making in situations involving animals.

I urge you to ensure that a thorough and transparent investigation is conducted into these incidents, and that appropriate legal and disciplinary actions are taken against Ethan Bock if the allegations are substantiated. It is essential that the Davenport Police Department demonstrates its commitment to accountability and the humane treatment of animals, and takes decisive steps to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]

  1. What kind of person shoots a dog in it’s own yard in front of children. They must be so traumatized. He needs to be fired from the police.

    • Paul Conrad says:

This policeman should be permanently relieved of duty and made to make adequate restitution to the families that he has severely traumatized. Hundreds of hours of community service based exclusively in animal shelters. Banned from ever owning any type of animal. Well being checks on his family members also.

      • I think you are pushing your luck when you say that Brother Paul. I am sure this piece of shit would just love to be sent on community service to a animal shelter whereby he would no doubt be able to craftily kill, murder or whatever numerous animals residing there!
NO, this dog murdering bastard should be tied to a stake and let the aggrieved family deal with him!,
Now that is what I call JUSTICE !!!

  2. Mitchell Sally says:

Get rid of that officer now. If he has no regard for family pets, he has no regard for humans either. What sickening trash would do that? And that’s all he is is TRASH!

    • This fucking piece of evil and heartless shit of a cop NEEDS to rot in HELL!!!!!!!! WHY did you senselessly murder a family dog and get away with it ???????????? That poor traumatized family!!!!!!!!! You NEVER used to hear of this cruel bullshit years ago!!!!!!!!! WHY is this horrible murdering of family dogs happening so much now ????????

  3. Maria Lavorato says:

FIRE HIM IMMEDIATELY. NO PENSION! Ethan Bock should never have been accepted in the police force. HE SHOOTS FIRST ASKS QUESTION LATER. That is a dangerous mind set

That little dog was probably just defending his family by barking that’s all …ASSHOLE. He’s cared shitless or he get’s a thrill from killing.

He needs to be charged with animal cruelty. Maximum charges. I think he enjoys killing dogs….as Myst was not the first victim! LET HIM PAY DEARLY. Also, ban this freak from every owing any animal!

DA, Judge get these innocent dogs REAL JUSTICE!! PLEASE!!

  4. this officer is a fucking worthless piece of shit. He obviously doesn’t like dogs. He kills one in front of their family and children and backs over another one the week before he should be fired and throw it over a cliff

    • Patricia Lamonica says:

FRANK THAT’S EXACTLY WHAT THIS LESS THAN HUMAN BEING SICK PHYCOPATH IS JUST THAT AND IF THE CHEIF OF POLICE DOES NOT FIRE THIS DARANGED PIECE OF SHIT HE IS JUST AS BAD AND THE REST OF THE FORCE HE WAS BRAGGING HE SHOT THE DOG IOWA YOU HAVE DANGER IN YOUR COMMUNITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. Sharon Rudyk says:

THERE IS NO PUNISHMENT SEVERE ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BUT HE IF KEEPS HIS JOB THEN WE NO JUSTICE DOES NOT EXIST!!!!!

  6. As both victims were living beings, I would suggest the authorities check the other pets and children in the area …. maybe the officers own children and the cold cases as well, as it is well documented that animal abuse mindset often goes hand in hand, or a stepping stone to cruelty to humans so any animal abuser should be considered for any open cases or cold cases of abuse of people …. police officer as well maybe so afraid of dogs that his fear is justifying his judgment…. he sounds fearful,or abusive with a weapon???

  7. This guy sounds like a psychopath.

  8. The police department there needs to be overhauled and cleaned up and out.
This so called cop needs to be ran over and shot over and over. Then set on fire you pos human HOW DARE YOU AND IF HE IS NOT REMOVED FROM DUTY. THEN YOU’RE WHOLE DEPARTMENT NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN

  9. How did this CRIMINAL ever get a job as a cop??????

This entire police department needs to be investigated – something is very very wrong there.

  11. Maria Nowicki says:

Shoot him and dispose of the trash!

  12. This mentally deranged dog killing scumbag oinker pig cop requires instigation of the death penalty and nothing less! A slow and agonizing extermination of this evil cretin is essential!

  13. Jacqueline “Torture the S…” says:

    RUN him Over!!!

  14. Irene Leggett says:

This vile piece of human garbage is a disgrace to his badge and uniform. He is NOTHING but a trigger-happy animal abuser who, quite happily, murders innocent dogs for his own perverted pleasure. Make sure he is punished with NO EXCUSES ACCEPTED.

  15. How did this piece of shit end up as a cop??? Lock him away!!

  16. Cathy Emerson says:

Scumbag, I wonder if his family are proud ofthis coward.

  17. Naomi Paula Lichtner says:

Sigh…time and time again this bs happens with cops. The body cam footage does nothing and then their supervisors excuse them. I’m sure this will happen again as it did the first time with the victim a few weeks earlier.

Why was he even in their yard? And the sickening casualness of his precious warning, with “bro” shows true sociopathy and disregard.

Myst, I’m so sorry you have to join Millions, Marshall, Enzo, Dixie, Rocco, Ollie and probably countless more…..enjoy the heavens now 💔😭🌈🙏🐾✨

  18. FIRE THEN FRY. PENSION? HE SHOULD BE DENIED ALL BENEFITS AND ANY LENIENCY. DEATH IS TOO GOOD FOR THIS MONSTER!

  19. Paula Long says:

This piece of crap obviously hates animals and it is just a matter of time before he kills a human! He is not God and I hope he rots in hell soon. The city better prosecute him because he is not a cop, he is an abusive thug!
