German Shepherd Left to Die in Sweltering Heat Deserves Justice

Target: Mr. Isidro Alaniz, District Attorney of Webb County, Texas

Goal: Investigate and ensure strict penalties for the individual responsible for abandoning the dog and enforce stronger animal welfare regulations.

On July 1, Laredo’s Animal Protective Society (LAPS) made a tragic discovery: a dead German Shepherd left at their doorstep, exposed to extreme heat. The organization has filed a police report and is seeking information about a black pickup truck seen leaving their lot around 6:40 a.m. This incident highlights the urgent need for strict enforcement of animal welfare laws and justice for the abandoned dog.

This case underscores the urgent need for strict enforcement of animal welfare laws to prevent such neglect and ensure justice for the animals involved. Take stringent measures to hold individuals accountable for animal cruelty and ensure the well-being of animals in our community.

    1. As much as I appreciate the site and I sign almost every petition, I do hate when they tell half of a story and they do that a lot. Was this dog chained up? Was he left in a crate? What are the circumstances around this?

    2. I have read time and again on this site how animals are dropped off outside of a shelter before/after hours. Why do shelters have a camera they can see a truck but no one monitoring them? A deer steps outside in my backyard and I get an alert on my phone immediately. Why did the shelter not see this poor suffering dog sooner? Why is no one monitoring these cameras? It can’t be that big an inconvenience and it would’ve saved a dog’s life! It is a tragedy for sure but one that could’ve been avoided in my judgment.

    • My sentiment exactly The shelters know these low life people are going to keep abandoning amimsls. This beautifully Shepard food a horrible death all alone because these shelter people are lazy. The poor dog must have been crying out as it ess dying too.I hate people

Absolutely No Tolerance Towards Animal ABUSERS n Cruelty. An eye for an eye fits this crime n should be the punishment

    • Also the truck was seen at 6.40am. what time do people arrive to start caring for the animals in the shelter. Usually days start at 7am. What shape was this poor dog in that it probably died in 20 minutes. Find this SOB. I would bet that poor dog had been living in hell until he was abandoned.

        Yep I agree Kerry!

          Cherilyn & Kerry:
I’m with y’all on this. I agree completely the shelter should have someone who monitors the camera & alerted by txt of a drop off. They knew the dog was dumped at 6:40 am. There wasn’t enough heat at that time before the shelter opened to have died of heat stroke. So where did the dog actually die? The petition doesn’t address this. I’m just trying to figure out how that could happen if the dog was alive when dropped off. Something isn’t right with the story in my opinion. I will sign, but whoever is guilty for this beautiful dog’s death, they need to be beaten & left in the sun all day.

    • Agreed!

    • Karrie McIntyre says:

I couldn’t agree with you more. That poor dog. My heart goess out to it and all the other pets left abandoned on shelter door steps.I always believed that the SPCA stood for Society. Protection Care of Animals not participating in animal abuse n neglect. So sad, U cant imagine what this poor dog went through and the pain and suffering it endured

    • Very good post and I totally agree

  2. Find this POS perp. and throw him into the California fires.

    • Patricia Lamonica says:

MY CENTIMENTS EXACTLY OR BETTER YET EXACUTE THIS LESS THAN HUMAN BEING SICK PHYCOPATH TEXAS HAS GOT A LOT OF SICK PEOPLE LIVING THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. Theresa Shirey says:

Why didn’t the camera pick up the license plate?

  4. Maria Lavorato says:

    Good point #2 Brian…

Is it too much to ask to have all these cameras monitored for the well being of all the animals dropped off.
That is your job….this little angel was suffering and could have been saved…..and countless others everywhere no doubt!!!!!!!!

  5. Texas you need to orchestrate a task force to investigate and go after these ass wipes for the abuse that is happening to these animals that can work and catch theseSOB’S!!! How many animals have to suffer and their abusers get away with murder and worse!!!

  6. There seem to be more goons out in our society than we wold life. To do this to an animal is to say you want the same done to you. Find the monster who did this and gave him what he gave this dog. Fry him! Right on the porch. He can then comprehend what the dog felt. This miserable SOB deserves nothing less than what he gave.

  7. Authorities must do their jobs to persecute this case of severe animal abuse and death before these killers perhaps harm you or yours!

  8. Fucking Texas people learn how to care for your pets

  9. Amanda Ingalls says:

I vote we do the same thing to the dirtbag who did that to the dog!!

  10. Instigation of the death penalty of these severe dog abusing killers is required to be implemented without delay. A slow and agonizing death for them is essential!

  11. Find this CRUEL & ABUSIVE ASSHOLE(S)ANDPUT A CHOKER CHAIN AROUND HIS NECK AND TIE HIM TO A HEAVY DUTY POST AND LEAVE THIS MISERABLE ASSHOLE OUT IN THE SUN WITHOUT ANY WATER AND FOOD WHERE HE DIES A PAINFUL DEATH AS HE/SHE DID TO THIS INNOCENT DEFENSELESS GERMAN SHEPHARD!!! NO EXCUSE FOR ANIMAL CRUELTY AND ABUSE ANYWHERE IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICAN AND ALL OVER THE WORLD TOO!!!!

  12. Susan Silva says:

SO SAD FOR THIS POOR INNOCENT HELPLESS GERMAN SHEPARD!!! THIS DOG DESERVES JUSTICE AND THIS MONSTER SHOULD NOT HAVE LEFT THIS DOG ALONE IN THE HEAT AND SHOULD BE PROSECUTED FOR NEGLECT AND ABUSE AND ULTIMATELY MURDER!!
SHELTERS SHOULD HAVE BETTER SYSTEM FOR DROP OFF ANIMALS FROM ASSHOLE MONSTERS LIKE THIS!!!
MAYBE PUT OUT COVERED SHELTER WITH WATER!!!!

  13. Jaime Perez says:

I’m sure they can find the monster who did this if they throughly check their cameras. Poor innocent dog didn’t deserve this horrible fate.

  14. Bernhard Yolanda says:

It is shameful what today’s society has destroyed in terms of meanness, utter stupidity, aggression, boredom, indifference and sheer selfishness. Our most valuable inhabitants of the earth, the animals and plants, are tortured and killed with the most vicious will and extreme sadism.
No – not just killed, but intentionally destroyed.

  15. Justice for the dog,+RIP
Death penalty for bastard killer, find this coward, burn in hell!
