Demand Justice for Dogs Allegedly Deprived of Food and Clean Water

Target: Broward State Attorney Harold F. Pryor, Florida

Goal: Enforce severe legal consequences for the reported animal cruelty in Broward County

In a deeply troubling incident, ten dogs were reportedly discovered in a non-ventilated storage unit in Pompano Beach. The Broward County Sheriff’s Office found these animals in distress, with their cages allegedly encrusted with feces and filth. The unit had a foul odor, and the dogs reportedly had no food and only brown water to drink.

Inside the unit were reportedly four cages: one holding two puppies, another containing six, a third with an adult female dog, and the last with an adult male dog bound by a metal chain around its neck. This alleged neglect and torment led to the dogs being taken to the Broward County Animal Care and Adoption Center for immediate care.

The suspected owner, Cassius Ali Cooper, allegedly attempted to reclaim the dogs from the shelter days later. Fortunately, deputies apprehended Cooper, who now faces ten charges of animal cruelty involving torment, deprivation, and mutilation of animals. Prevent further cruelty and to serve as a deterrent to such acts.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Attorney Harold F. Pryor,

We are writing to express our grave concern regarding the recent incident involving ten dogs reportedly found in a distressing state within a non-ventilated storage unit in Pompano Beach. The animals were allegedly discovered in cages encrusted with feces, deprived of food, and left with only brown water, causing them significant distress.

This apparent case of animal cruelty is deeply alarming. The dogs were reportedly confined in cages, some with multiple animals, and one with an adult male dog bound by a metal chain. Such conditions reportedly pose severe risks to their health and well-being. The suspected owner, Cassius Ali Cooper, allegedly tried to retrieve these dogs from the shelter just days after their rescue, highlighting the need for immediate and strict legal action.

We urge you to enforce severe legal consequences for this reported animal cruelty case. It is imperative to ensure justice for these animals and to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future. Your prompt and decisive action will not only protect these vulnerable creatures but also send a clear message that animal cruelty will not be tolerated in Broward County.

Sincerely,
