Animals Allegedly Left to Die in Deplorable Conditions Deserve Justice

Target: Natasha C. Irving, District Attorney for Waldo County, ME

Goal: Prosecute individuals accused of endangering welfare of animals and dependent senior to fullest extent.

Two people living in Maine allegedly endangered both a senior residing with them and several animals. Police had initially responded to a welfare check regarding the senior. They reportedly discovered “deplorable” conditions that led to a follow-up check. Upon the second evaluation, authorities apparently could not locate either the suspects or the senior that was the subject of the check. They did, however, seemingly discover multiple animals in poor health. Some of these animals reportedly required life-saving measures.

Both of the individuals under investigation – Monique and Rowan Kandra – were located, along with the allegedly at-risk senior. The duo now faces charges of endangering the welfare of a dependent person, as well as animal cruelty. Authorities indicated the animal cruelty charges could be upgraded.

Sign the petition below to ensure prosecutors seek maximum charges in this disturbing case.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear DA Irving,

Monique Kandra and Rowan Kandra not only allegedly endangered the welfare of a dependent senior living with them. Reports indicate they may also have attempted to flee with the dependent. Worse yet, they seemingly left several vulnerable and deteriorating animals in their wake.

Each of these allegations is deplorable, Together, they signal individuals who are – if guilty – likely well aware of their wrongdoing and unrepentant. The animal cruelty charges could be upgraded to reflect the gravity of these alleged offenses.

Please take this step and seek the most stringent possible penalty in the event of a conviction.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]
