The pet dog of a television actress was reportedly shot dead in North Carolina by a delivery driver. The incident began when an Instacart employee delivered goods to the home of actress Angie Harmon. Two dogs were apparently on the premises. The driver is reportedly claiming that one dog, Oliver, attacked him and prompted him to fire one shot. The actress, however, has a different story.
In a social media post, Harmon apparently claimed the following: “he got out of his car, delivered the food & THEN shot our dog. Our [Ring] camera was charging in the house, which he saw & then knew he wasn’t being recorded. The police let him go b/c he claimed ‘self-defense.’ He did not have a scratch or bite on him nor were his pants torn.” She went on to allege that the driver acted with indifference following the reported shooting.
Although police confirmed parts of this rendering of events, reports indicate an investigation will not proceed forward. Sign the petition below to urge local law enforcement to keep open this apparent case of a beloved pet murdered in cold blood, and to assess the full facts before reaching a conclusion.

The case involving the apparent shooting of a German Shepherd by an Instacart delivery driver has seemingly been closed. The heartbroken owner of this dog has asked for further action. At the very least, a full investigation should take place. If the driver’s actions are deemed suspect or lacking reasonable response, he should face legal consequences.
Please do not drop this investigation and, in the process, diminish the trust of animal lovers and pet parents in the region.

Some people just like to kill things. On the other hand why would you not have your dog secured when you know you are getting a delivery.There is ignorance on both ends, with the dog paying the price.

Disappointing that the delivery “person” got away with claiming self-defense when there was as zero evidence to corroborate the story. Here in the South the attitude is unfortunately still “it’s just a dog”. That driver is dangerous and clearly does not need to be going to strangers’ homes. Time in prison away from society would be the best thing.

It is so damn easy to carry a can of citronella spray. Or even, if you must, something a bit stronger. As a delivery driver, you should carry something like this if you are scared of dogs or if you encounter a dog that is hostile. But to pull out a gun and shoot a family pet and claim it is self defense? That is ludicrous, dangerous to everyone around you, irresponsible, and should be illegal.
Why is a delivery driver carrying a gun??? If there was no proof of an attack then this piece of shit needs to die! How horrible. People really are sick bastards!! As a former mailman (walking with a cart not driving) we carried a spray and if we felt unsafe we didn’t deliver the mail. Just that simple.

In North Carolina you can carry a gun, OF ANY TYPE, without a permit. So, basically, any moron can carry a gun, at work, at the grocery store or right onto your property. If I lived in NC and discovered that my delivery drivers were ARMED, that would be my cue to never order anything delivered… ..cuz, you know, children and pets. Don’t know which is more chilling, concealed carry, open carry, no permits required or the fact that automatic weapons are also on the menu. Reason 1,001 to never patronize “gig economy” businesses. It’s a race to the bottom and now they can carry firearms and kill your pet with zero consequences
This must be prosecute-able. Surely, 100’s of uneventful deliveries were made to this home before this incident. The dog was likely no danger.

It seems like the police are derelict, as usual, believing a man who shot a dog with no evidence he was attacked. No sscrapes, bites or torn clothes. There are too many of these episodes, many done by police themselves! There should be a thorough investigation . This li like killing a family member! Why is he armed as a grocery delivery person?
There are photos and videos of the dog online. There is no way this dog could be a threat anyone. Its a sweet cuddly family pet. It’s disgusting that the authorities are allowing this to happen – with no repercussions. My heart goes out to the dog and family. Boycott instacart too for not prescreening- a delivery person should not have a gun. Thats sick too. Who would want to use use a grocery service that doesnt make sure it’s drivers have no lethal weapons on them.

His name, picture and any other information about this human scum degenerate should be on every platform so people will know to rate him poorly, not to give him any extra tips, and just to know what he looks like so he can be publicly shamed as a cold blooded dog killer!
