Demand Justice for Kittens Reportedly Found Dead in Backpack

Target: Allen Koppy, District Attorney of Morton County, North Dakota

Goal: Secure legal punishment for the alleged abandonment and cruelty towards kittens.

A Bismarck woman faces charges for allegedly abandoning kittens in a manner most cruel, leaving them in a backpack by the roadside. Allegations describe a scene where most of the kittens, discovered in a dire state and covered in filth, did not survive. This case, emerging from Morton County, spotlights the grave issue of animal cruelty and the urgency for legal intervention. Further distressing details reportedly note the backpack, slightly ajar, contained several kittens at a location known for its tranquility near railroad tracks. Allegedly, this act was an attempt to discard the kittens, with the perpetrator assuming they would eventually be found. Sadly, four of these kittens were transported for examination, yet, a definitive cause of death remained elusive.

Julie Schirado, a volunteer with Furry Friends Rockin’ Rescue, revealed interactions with the accused prior to the incident. Efforts to surrender the kittens and their mother were apparently thwarted by non-adherence to surrender policies. This narrative not only sheds light on the challenges faced by rescue organizations but also underscores the importance of responsible pet ownership. As the community reels from this revelation, there’s a collective call for justice, not just for the kittens, but as a stand against all forms of animal cruelty. With the accused pleading not guilty and the trial set for June, anticipation and demands for accountability grow.

The collective conscience cannot stand idly by. This petition seeks to ensure that acts of alleged animal cruelty, especially of such a heart-wrenching nature, are met with the full force of the law. It’s imperative we demand change, ensuring stricter enforcement and penalties that reflect the severity of such actions.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear DA Allen Koppy,

In the wake of deeply troubling allegations surrounding the abandonment and subsequent death of several kittens in Morton County, our community seeks your immediate and decisive action. The alleged facts of this case, as disturbing as they are, call for a thorough examination and prompt legal response. A backpack, discovered in a serene fishing spot, concealed a horrific scene: kittens, mostly deceased, reportedly abandoned in conditions that speak to a profound disregard for life and welfare.

This case, involving Taylor Jensen, who faces charges of felony animal cruelty and misdemeanor animal abandonment, represents a pivotal moment for justice and animal rights in our community. Reportedly, these kittens were left in a situation with little hope for survival, a decision that resulted in an undeniable tragedy. The involvement of Furry Friends Rockin’ Rescue highlights a broader issue of animal welfare and the responsibilities of pet ownership, underscoring the necessity for legal frameworks that adequately protect the innocent.

We, the undersigned, urge you to pursue this case with the seriousness it warrants, ensuring that if wrongdoing is proven, it is met with appropriate consequences. Our legal system has the means to send a clear message: cruelty and negligence towards animals will not be tolerated. By holding individuals accountable for their actions, we affirm our collective commitment to compassion, justice, and the well-being of all beings in our community.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]

  1. Encountered scum like this back in rescue days; didnt want to surrender cats/kittens in case they could make money out of them. Frankly id just wait and one night they would just go missing when twat owner let them out, if you understand me! Adopted to fully vetted new owners living at a distance away, job done. Not my nature to piss about when an animal is suffering, sorry!

  2. Took the time to bag them up and dump them but didn’t have the time to take them to a shelter. People just suck.
