Reported Sexual Abuse of Dog by Inmates Must be Punished

Target: Samuel Prawer, Director of Government Affairs for the Department of Corrections, USA

Goal: Ensure accountability and enhance animal welfare standards in correctional facilities

Shocking allegations have emerged from the Maine State Prison, involving the alleged sexual abuse of a dog by inmates. This horrifying claim brings to light not only the alleged mistreatment of an innocent animal but also raises serious questions about the oversight and ethical management within correctional facilities. According to reports, two inmates are believed to be involved in this egregious act, pointing to a grievous lapse in the prison’s duty to protect all living beings within its walls.

Further details reveal the Maine Department of Corrections’ response, initiating an investigation into these serious allegations. Samuel Prawer, Director of Government Affairs, highlighted the department’s commitment to addressing this issue, though specifics, including the existence of any video evidence, remain undisclosed. This incident allegedly occurred within the context of the Earned Living Unit, a program presumably designed to promote rehabilitation and responsibility among inmates.

The necessity for a stringent review of animal welfare policies in correctional institutions has never been clearer. Enhancing oversight, ensuring accountability for those found responsible, and instituting rigorous animal welfare standards are imperative. Hold individuals accountable for their actions, reevaluate the Earned Living Unit’s policies, and safeguard against future occurrences of alleged abuse.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Director Samuel Prawer,

We write to you amidst disturbing allegations surfacing from within the Maine State Prison, where a dog was reportedly subjected to sexual abuse by inmates. Such allegations, if true, not only expose a horrifying act of cruelty but also underscore a significant failure in safeguarding the welfare of animals entrusted to the care of the correctional system. This incident, reportedly involving two inmates and one dog within the Earned Living Unit, has understandably shocked and appalled all who advocate for the humane treatment of animals.

The Maine Department of Corrections has commenced an investigation, a step we acknowledge. However, this alone is insufficient. We urge a comprehensive review and overhaul of policies regarding animals in correctional facilities to prevent any recurrence of such alleged acts. The purported lapse in oversight that allowed this alleged abuse demands immediate and decisive action to ensure those responsible are held accountable and measures are implemented to enhance the protection of all animals within the system.

Our call to action is unequivocal: instigate thorough policy reforms, enforce stringent animal welfare standards, and ensure transparency in the investigation’s outcomes. Let this unfortunate episode serve as a catalyst for positive change, affirming the Maine Department of Corrections’ commitment to the highest standards of care and responsibility for all lives within its purview.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]

My anger surpasses my ability to comment. Deplorable

    • I AGREE. It is just disgusting to read this. Does not sound like those inmates are being rehabilitated at al. Maybe to go back out on 5l streets to re affend again. Sick minded people!

  2. Castrate the pos’s. Hope they stay in prison to their bitter ends!!

  3. Many inmates and animals have benefited from their experience together. All it takes is one time to ruin so many chances to go forward with such a successful program. Not every prisoner is a pervert. Many are but quite aq few are not. This dog should not have suffered as he did. Obviously cameras are necessary to keep constant surveillance. This is both a safety measure for the innocent animal and for others who are not part of this crime not to suffer from being falsely accused. Maybe a trial to see if cameras work in this instance and to see if this project can continue.

Another dog treated like a slave for human purposes, never had a choice, and then sexually abused to top it off. Why was there no supervision?!

  5. Lakhvir Smith says:

I hate it here. Poor animal suffered and there is never any justice. They should just be executed bc clearly they wont be rehabilated.

  6. Death to sex abusers, no mercy!

  7. Bet you they are pedos too who abuse animals. May God let you suffer! Remove all the dogs!

The use of guide dogs is cruel. Their training is cruel. And, now this. We must find other ways to rehabilitate prisoners AND support blind or disabled people THAT DOES NOT INCLUDE condemning dogs to a life of servitude or exposing them to prisoners with mental illness and violent histories. So incredibly sick of hearing that the obvious happened.

What is WRONG with people that need to use animals for their deviant behavior? They need to go somewhere else for a long time.

This little angel was there to support these SOB’S and that is what happens!…that is this little dogs thank you????????!!!!!!

Take this dog away to a safe loving home and DENY these bastards involved any FUTURE DOGS! Please give this little dogs the necessary therapy.

HOW CAN THIS HAVE HAPPENED! This must be investigated fully and mandatory changes need to be implemented immediately! DISCLOSE EVERYTHING! DO NOT PROTECT THESE PERPS AND TAKE AWAY THEIR PRIVILEGES!

  11. Since the inmates are know, just arrange for a public sodomize!

  12. Castration is the only answer for these subhumans as when they get out of prison will do the same to our young helpless children. This is a fact of law where many if not all animals abusers will go on to abuse and murder helpless children also .

  13. Gail Coates says:

They shouldn’t allow animals in prison because of incidents like this. They should BAN inmates from having animals in prison. Not fair on the animals.

What are the names of the inmates that raped the dog? EVERYONE deserves to know the names of these sick, evil SOB’s! What the hell is going on? People like this should be taken to the woods, shot in the head and left for buzzard food! If any states don’t have the guts to do this, I’ll gladly volunteer my time and ammo!

  15. These are very disturbed individuals who should not be let out of prison to harm any innocent animal or human again.

  17. There had to be a cover up because the guards had to know and so did other inmates. Those men need to be put in the general prison and have a longer sentence imposed. These men are still a danger to society. The guards need to be fired. They had to hear the poor dog crying or barking. Animals don’t belong in a prison with criminals. They are better off in a shelter where nobody will hurt them until adopted by a normal family.

  18. I’d like to see EVERYONE involved in this act of pure evil hanged. Zero empathy for those involved. Castrate them…then hang them. They don’t have the right to breath our air.

  19. These men are subhuman. Castration is the only answer!

  20. Seems like most of us are in agreement here. I love it. I have come to learn that ridding these disgusting people from our earth has more value than keeping them alive, and for the record, I value ALL life. But why do the rule followers and good people like us, along with innocent animals have to suffer for these deplorable swine? For the betterment of society, humanely (even though they don’t deserve it) and swiftly get rid of them and make the world a better place for good people and animals. They have proven that they don’t deserve to be part of us. Cut the dead weight
