Stop Cruel Buffalo Fights for Entertainment Purposes

Target: Hemanta Kr. Das, Superintendent of Police, Morigaon, Assam

Goal: Ensure the comprehensive prohibition of buffalo fights due to their cruel nature.

In an urgent plea for justice and compassion, recent events in Assam have apparently illuminated the dark underbelly of animal cruelty represented by unauthorized buffalo fights. Prompted by vigilant advocacy and legal intervention by PETA India, an alleged scheduled buffalo fighting event in Chikabori, Morigaon, was averted, marking a pivotal moment in the fight against animal cruelty. This action, following an appeal to the district’s authorities, underscores a significant, albeit initial, victory for animal welfare.

Disturbing reports from Raha Koroiguri and Kasomari apparently revealed buffaloes subjected to barbaric treatment to provoke aggression for entertainment. These investigations, triggered by PETA India, showcased the grim reality of such events: animals allegedly beaten and forced into distressing conditions.

The necessity for immediate and decisive action is clear. The advocacy by PETA India and the subsequent response by Morigaon’s officials set a precedent for the treatment of animals and the enforcement of laws designed to protect them. Demand a full ban on buffalo fights, not only as a matter of legal compliance but as a moral imperative to end the suffering of these sentient beings.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Hemanta Kr. Das,

We write to you, compelled by a shared commitment to justice and the well-being of all living creatures. Recent interventions by your office have reportedly prevented a buffalo fight in Chikabori, an act of compassion that did not go unnoticed. However, the fight against animal cruelty is far from over. Reports of unauthorized buffalo fights in Assam paint a harrowing picture of suffering and abuse, necessitating our collective action.

The documented cruelty—buffaloes allegedly beaten to induce aggression—represents not only a violation of law but a moral failing. These practices, rooted in tradition or entertainment, can no longer be justified in a society that values compassion and ethical treatment of all beings. We applaud the steps taken thus far but recognize the need for more comprehensive measures.

Therefore, we urge you to advocate for and enforce a complete ban on buffalo fights in Assam. This action would not only align with the legal directives already in place but also represent a significant stride towards a more humane and just society. We ask you to use your authority to protect those who cannot speak for themselves and to set an example that cruelty towards animals is neither acceptable nor tolerable.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]

  1. The immoral a@@holes that do this deserve to be beaten within an inch of their life and then left to die a slow, painful death. Any authority that allows this deserves the same treatment
