Service Dog Shot to Death in Cold Blood Deserves Justice

Target: Glenn Youngkin, Governor of Virginia

Goal: Enact stricter laws against animal cruelty in wake of service dog’s tragic death.

The appalling case of Bear, a service dog shot by Louis Davis, has ignited a fervent plea for justice and legislative change. This incident, emerging from Staunton, VA, not only highlights the heartbreak of a family losing a vital companion but also exposes the shortcomings of our current legal framework in addressing animal cruelty. The dog’s untimely death, following a shooting incident that lacked any semblance of provocation, demands a critical examination of our laws and their deterrent effect on potential perpetrators.

Davis’s conviction of felony animal cruelty, as a result of the shooting, brings to light troubling inconsistencies in his explanations, culminating in an apparent admission of the act. This acknowledgment came amidst a backdrop of conflicting accounts, further emphasizing the calculated nature of this cruelty. Despite the conviction, the case starkly illustrates the necessity for more stringent legal consequences. The existing penalties fall short of adequately punishing such acts and deterring future incidents.

The need for legislative reform is undeniable. The current legal penalties for animal cruelty do not suffice in reflecting the severity of the offense or in safeguarding our animal companions from unwarranted violence. This case, while singular in its details, is symptomatic of a broader issue that demands immediate and decisive action to protect the welfare of animals. Ensure that the punishment for such heinous acts is commensurate with their gravity.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Governor Youngkin,

The conviction of Louis Davis for the cruel shooting of a service dog named Bear in Staunton, VA, has cast a spotlight on the imperative need for stricter animal cruelty laws. This egregious act, marked by a lack of provocation and a disregard for life, underscores the inadequacies of our current legal framework in deterring and punishing acts of animal cruelty. Bear’s story is not just a tale of loss and sorrow but a clarion call for legislative reform.

The details of Bear’s case, including the disturbing admission by Davis and the subsequent legal proceedings, highlight a disturbing reality: our laws are not strong enough. The conviction, while bringing some measure of justice, also reveals the limitations of existing statutes in providing adequate deterrents to potential offenders. It is clear that to prevent future tragedies, we must advocate for and implement laws that reflect the seriousness of animal cruelty offenses.

We urge you to take immediate action to strengthen our state’s stance against animal cruelty. By enacting laws that impose harsher penalties for such crimes, we can honor the memory of Bear and countless other victims of similar acts. Let us ensure that the legal system provides a robust defense for the most vulnerable among us, deterring would-be offenders through the certainty of severe consequences.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]

  1. NO MORE IGNORANT AND LAXED LAWS that do nothing but put a slap on the wrist.
Give me the worst weapon imaginable and impunity, and I will take this MOFO out myself! Justice for Bear and all animals that face cruelty at the hands of monstrous humans every day.

    • I agree, if I lived in VA I would wait a bit and track this individual habits in everything he does. And then one day, he just doesn’t come home

      • Exactly what I would do

        • You two have said it absolutely right. My moves entirely. This bastard would sure not get away with this murder of an innocent animal.
And before this tosser exited the world he would know exactly WHY!!!
The pricks that call themselves ‘Justice’s’
are just a total waste of bloody space and could not give a fuck that an innocent animal has been murdered for no apparent reason!! These twats are seriously ‘dangerous loonies’ and the bastards must be eradicated as they will just keep murdering as their warped fancy takes them!!
And ‘YES’, the only thing these buggers WILL understand is when they are horizontal on the ground either disabled for life or maybe better still – left for ‘dead’.
These tossers are of no use to society whatsoever and have to be dispatched.
As ‘justice’ has said above the bastards have to be tracked, monitored and followed until a patten is established, then without their knowledge, seriously immobilised!!
Bugger the useless law, they are scared of these wankers so ‘street justice’ ‘mob rule’ and ‘vigilante groups’ are needed to give these bastards a ‘wake up call’ and if they end up dying ‘short of breath’ then so much the better!
I love all dogs – ‘BUT’ if this had been MY FRIENDS, or MY DOG, this bastard would certainly be counting his days left on planet earth —— of that I can personally guarantee.J.W.

      • Maybe someone will do that, Justice for Animals, evil subhumans must leave the planet.

    • I hope the same thing he did to this precious innocent furbaby happens to him only 10 times worse…Eye for a Eye Bitch!!!!🤬🤬🤬🤬

    • Patricia Lamonica says:

LOVE THE WORD IGNORANT THAT’S EXACTLY WHAT THE JUDGES AND DISTRICT ATTORNEYS ARE THE ONES LETING THESE LESS THAN HUMAN BEINGS SICK PHYCOPATHS WHO ARE TORTURING, ABUSING AND KILLING ANIMALS OFF WITH JUST A SLAP ON THE WRIST THESE MF NEED TO BE EXACUTED AN EYE FOR AN EYE NO MERCY!!!

      • Tucker Thomas says:

Yes! The law makers and the Judges need to be STRICTER, NO AND IF OR BUTS! NONE OF THIS SLAP ON THE WRISTS ANYMORE, ANYWHERE! Get rid of the Judges that don’t care, and get in the Judges who are tough and take no SH*T, and DON’T listen to the lies!

        TOUGHER LAWS AND TOUGHER JUDGES!
        TOUGHER SENTENCES!

  2. This is a tragedy which happens everyday and each day the story is worse than the day before. This dog was innocent! This man was guilty as hell! Does this slime ball realize how expensive these dogs are or how attached they become to their family and visa-versa? These folks are at risk as are well all. We have a failure of lame laws protecting nothing. Our laws are not enforced. Yet people die, their dogs die, everything they treasure can be taken in a second. as a result of insane people being allowed to live in a Society built on laws. The legal system has failed us.There is no reason for this death. And knowing the failure of judges, courts, laws, no one will replace what is now lost. This man should be drawn and quartered! Then possibly people like this man would be too afraid to cause damage to decent people. I would suggest the dog be replaced at this man’s expense. Put a lean on his house, put a lean on his bank accounts. This horrible excuse for a person should suffer as he has caused suffering for others due to no fault of their own. We allow murderers to walk the streets? America is not the country it used to be because the people are mentally challenged and unhinged! How shameful for Virginia, and sadly, and yourself.

    • Melinda Maddox says:

      Smen

    • Thank you for honest words! This beautiful dog deserves justice. We do not know why the perpetrator did this!

    • Very well said. Completely agree with everything you said. Thank you!!

    • Exactly right.
If these bastards got wind of what is going to happen to them when cornered or tracked by a ‘fired – up Mob, the tossers would ‘crap’ themselves as they are just 100% fucking cowards and can only take out their pathetic frustrations on innocent animals!
This piece of shit needs ‘dragging’ from his house and beaten unmercifully by a angry fired up group. I am pretty sure there would be a reduction of animal murderers very quickly as the spineless bastards would definitely ‘NOT’ want to be on the receiving end!
To mention, since submitting to this site I have yet to see anywhere that any of these bastard animal torturers and murderers have been imprisoned or terminated by fair means or foul!!
If anyone could supply any information it would be exceedingly good to know that ‘ Justice’ one way or the other has been carried out!!!
      J.W.

    • America 🇺🇸 went from.good to bad in the worst way and that because of all the sick ass judges and damn attorney’s so why do we need any of these stupid bastard anyway hell they don’t even know how to do there jobs

  3. A slap on the wrist is disgusting! A much stronger punishment is warranted. Maybe he can be sued for emotional distress from the dog owner.

  4. Service dog shouldn’t exist. Period. They become slaves to idiots and get mistreated like garbage and abused, neglected. If you ever seen service dog that is content and happy clearly you’re blind. I witness this one after another it’s disgusting. Humans are selfish lazy creatures

    • You are a FUCKING idiot! This dog was a service dog to one of our veterans you fucking moron! Shut your mouth!

    • Are you insane you are a fool some people needs the help of these beautiful Dogs they are well trained and happy me thinks mabe you were turned down at one point and couldn’t get a Dog

    • What the hell happened to your soul? Service dogs are often all that stands between mental hospitals and a veteran having a life. Guide dogs for the blind? We have have bred so many dogs who are only happy and content with a job. If you personally know of a service dog being mistreated report it otherwise crawl back under you rock.

    • Just don’t comment, on anything else, ever again. Educate yourself before you speak.

Second, If you see mistreatment of a service animal, then report it!!!

Third, refer back to my first comment.

  5. this sicko should be jailed

  6. I would be more inclined to sign if there were details of the incident included in this call to arms. If this occurrence was so absent of provocation, why is the writer seemingly afraid to describe it?

    • Here is more info. The dog was a Huskey. And a service dog to one of our cherished veterans suffering from PTSD. Maybe this Dementiafied POS saw the dog at the end of his driveway and thought it was a wolf like the other POS conservative woman with a gun who shot a Huskey and claimed it was a wolf and skinned it! These dun toting MOFO conservatives give me a pain in the ass. Read here about the guys wife trying to run down the Veteran after they went after her husband for the killing….. when he was out walking with his remaining Huskey! Louis needs the shit beat outta him! His wife too! https://augustafreepress.com/news/augusta-county-grand-jury-indicts-louis-davis-in-case-involving-shooting-death-of-neighbors-service-dog/

      • Top update Sister Lisa,
Thank you for supplying the thread.
And without more ‘ado’ we all know what needs to happen to this bastard and his twat of a wife.
Even if the bastards DO get prosecuted it will I expect, just be a telling off and IF—- a really big IF, they have to do jail time (which I very much doubt) the tossers will STILL do the same sort of thing again when released as it is in the bastards genes! The only sure thing that will guarantee to stop these buggers is when (NOT IF) the animal murdering shitbags are good and DEAD!
        J,W.

    • Does it really matter? The dog did absolutely nothing to deserve to be shot. These crimes are coming to be more and more. No one needs to be concerned about the POS that did it! Other than they get the punishment deserved. NOT a freaking slap on the wrist like always.

    • Well if that’s the case, I guess the piece of shit wouldn’t have been convicted of felony animal cruelty

  7. Melinda Maddox says:

Shooting a service animal what in the world is wrong with this guy it wouldn’t matter what he thought was worth the bullet nothing is worth that he needs prosecution to the fullest. This was ridiculously deplorable. This man is seriously seriously demented.

    • This fucker shot and murdered this innocent dog that was happy and content with it’s owner. WHY!!!!!
The only thing that this wanker certainly needs is being beaten to death by anyone who feels strongly enough or better still, if someone is brave enough, a quick bullet though the back of the fuckers head will solve all of his problems quickly and efficiently. GOODBYE ARSEHOLE!!!
      J.W.
P.S.— Would I do it?? YOU BLOODY BET!!!

  8. Shelly Barrett says:

They need to put him in jail for about 10 years. Until the people that do this have real consequences and life changes this will keep on happening.

  9. What kind of POS would shoot someone’s service dog for no reason. How about we stab the shit outta him? That’s justice in my book for this!

  10. Margaret Strane says:

This devil should be prosecuted for murder! Shooting him would not be out of line.

  11. Debra Stewart Lamb says:

    What a creep

  12. Louis Davis should be given the death penalty!!!!!!!!!

    • Vya Bochenek says:

Yes, bring back the death penalty. Enough of this evil sickening behavior. What right and provocation did he have to shoot a beautiful service dog such as this lab the heartbreak for this family now throw this monster in jail no slap on the wrist. The laws protecting animals must change now.

      • Animals have as much right as humans to be alive.
And what right did this bastard have to murder an innocent dog?? NONE WHATSOEVER!
I keep on saying and saying, until these pieces of shite are taken out, (by fair means or foul) the animal torture and murder will continue. If these bastards started to end up DEAD, or the law got off their lazy arses and ‘dished our’ proper sentences then there sure would, I am certain, be a serious decline in animal abuse and torture! These pricks are COWARDS and would not want to lose their lives!
But until this happens the animal torture and murder WILL keep on happening!!!
        J,W.

  13. barry farley says:

These fucking people whom make these statements about service dogs deserve no place on the earth need to shut their damn mouths up because they deserve no warrant to find themselves placed on the earth. This poor service needs the justice that is warrant for them. The person that shot this poor service dog needs to be punished to the full extent of the law and no jail time just put this damn fucking SOB and place him front of a wall and shoot his damn brains out. Service dogs and animals are to be loved and care for. They just want compassion from us the same way we want compassion just like we want compassion from them as well. Service dogs serve the needs of veterans and the disability. After bastard is shot take him and drive his ass down the street to show the people what a subhuman being this person really is to shoot a service dog.

  14. Maria Lavorato says:

    Glenn Youngkin, Governor of Virginia
WHERE IS THE JUDICIAL SYSTEM IN ALL OF THIS!? I would love to see lawmakers turn the tide on all these tragedies toward innocent animals that go lightly punished which exacerbates everything.

Service dogs like Bear devote ALL their life and they don’t even deserve justice!!!!! THERE IS NO GRIP ON JUSTICE ANYMORE. This dog was totally innocent!!!!

Louis Davis and his wife deserve death. Good plan ..Justice.

..and I noticed this as well some service dogs look terribly unhappy. I sure hope they are compensated in a great way and retired very EARLY.

  15. LAWS FOR KILLING ANIMALS MUST BE AS STRICT AS FOR KILLING HUMANS. ANIMALS ARE BETTER THAN IGNORANT HUMANS — THEY CAN’T FEND FOR THEMSELVES, AND DEPEND ON HUMANS TO BE CARING. LAWS MUST BE UPDATED SO THAT KILLERS GET REAL PRISON TIME, NOT A SLAP ON THE WRIST OF “CAN’T HAVE ANIMALS ANYMORE”!! I AM SO SICK OF THIS!!!!!

  16. I hope someone shoots this piece of crap

  17. Louis Davis is a POS SCUMBAG that needs to be in prison. Hope this SCUMBAG dies a long painful and agonizing death!

  18. PLEASE SAVE TAXPAYERS SOM MONEY JUST SHOITING THIS CRUEL ABD ABUSIVE ASSHOLE LOUIS DAVID AND KILL HIM!!!!

  19. There is a law in Virginia it is called Tommie’s Law. It was passed when a pitbull lab was tied to a pole in Richmond VA and set on fire, he was rescued but later passed away.
A bill was initiated and was voted in which is now called Tommie’ Law. Anyone who tortures, willfully inflicts inhumane injury or pain, cruelly and unnecessarily beats, maims or mutilated any dog or cat can be found guilty of a Class 6 felonies. Punishable by up to five years in prison and fined up to 2500.00
That is all well and good but the judges don’t enforce it. They don’t have the balls to do so.
Last year a man shot his 2 dogs, in cold blood which he tied together and lied about it. He said they were stolen. Finally he was caught dumbing their bodies, so he had to confess.
After he was in jail, had a trial, found guilty. He was handed a sentence of 12 months, less the time he already served and he only has to serve 65% of the remaining time.
If i was the judge he serve 10 years and 5,000 fine. But that would be to good for him.
These laws have to be enforced to the fullest or else they are useless. Animal abuse and cruelty has gotten out of control, no only in VA but everywhere.

  20. Red state? good luck with any punishment. Those assholes don’t give a damn about anything or anyone except that orange lard ass
