Terrier Who Reportedly Suffered Multiple Bone Fractures From Attack by Owner Deserves Justice

Target: Mr. Todd Westwood, SPCA Chief Executive, New Zealand

Goal: Secure harsher penalties for animal cruelty cases following the distressing alleged abuse of a small dog named Mister.

In Porirua, North Island, New Zealand, a grievous instance of animal cruelty emerged when a terrier allegedly suffered at his owner’s hands. Mister, the dog, reportedly endured a brutal attack that led to severe injuries. After getting his claw caught, Mister’s subsequent actions, which included an accidental indoor relief, apparently provoked the owner’s rage.

As per SPCA reports, the owner’s retaliation involved kicking and throwing Mister, who suffered multiple bone fractures and a lung collapse. Charged with ill-treatment of an animal, the owner faced the Porirua District Court and received a sentence: one month of community detention and six months of supervision, with a three-year ban on dog ownership.

Though Mister recovered and found a new home, the sentence raises concerns over its adequacy in deterring future cruelty. Take action now.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Mr. Westwood,

In the wake of Mister the dog’s harrowing ordeal, there comes a clarion call for a re-examination of animal cruelty sentencing in New Zealand. It is disconcerting to learn that the abuse, which left a dog with broken bones and a punctured lung, resulted in what many might consider a lenient punishment. This event, marked by a disturbingly violent reaction to a pet’s minor transgression, should catalyze a stricter stance against animal cruelty.

We request a comprehensive review of the sentencing guidelines. Current penalties fail to encapsulate the severity of such acts, potentially falling short in safeguarding countless animals that remain silent witnesses and victims to human wrath. It is crucial that the legal system reflects a firm commitment to justice and compassion for all beings, setting a precedent that discourages future maltreatment.

Mister’s case must not simply be a footnote in the annals of animal welfare. Let it be the impetus for change. We urge you to advocate for revised, stringent penalties that match the gravity of the crimes committed against creatures unable to plea for mercy.

With respect and hope for reform,

That monster deserves to be in prison and experience the same abuse! This poor dog needs justice.

  2. Laura Rolder says:

A damn slap on the wrist fir such horrific abuse of this poor helpless innocent little dog. Shame on you. Your laws need to be stricter. This monsters shoukd be in prison on Felony charges. Not probation and a 3 year ban of owning another animal. It’s a life of never owning or being around any animals. Again the abuser gets off easy and the abused living being doesn’t get the Justice.

    • Well, assuming this turd has been released, then people must know his whereabouts!
If anyone or group has the nerve to locate him somewhere out of the way then ‘things’ CAN be done to help him understand that shit like this will not be tolerated!
If you think you can go the whole ‘hog’ and deal with the bastard, just be very careful, do not let him see you, do the deed and make sure you have an interrupted escape route!!
I will just say, after stringent planning it can succeed!
Referring to Jonny K’s submission; you really do not want to be ‘nicked’ on a murder charge ( which the cops would love) protecting the bastard perps human rights, ( what a bloody joke eh!) So, advice. Spend plenty of time sussing out the bastards ways and his walks, where he goes, what he does, when he is on his own etc etc.
Not easy but can be done. And you know, it is really very satisfying to see this in the newspaper some time afterwards!
No guilt should be felt as it is just another animal torturing and murdering bastard less on our world!!

What a sweet pup. Obviously, this monster ticked him off! And deserves to be tortured, broken bones and lung, in jail with no help.
Lifetime Ban!!! Owning or going near an animal!

  4. DO THE SAME WITH THAT MONSTER OF AN OWNER. HOW COULD HE HURT THAT POOR DOG SO BADLY. HE CERTAINLY HAS NO HART.

  5. Lifetime ban not only 3 years!!

THIS WAS A WOMAN WHO DID THIS! THE POOR DOG GOT HIS CLAW CAUGHT AND WOKE HER AND THE KIDS UP. IT HAD USED THE BATHROOM, SHE HAD STEPPED IN IT AND IT PISSED HER OFF! PLUS, THE ABUSE HAD WENT ON FOR WEEKS! FOR SOME REASON, NEW ZEALAND THINKS THESE WORTHLESS PIECES OF SHIT SHOULD BE PROTECTED AND NOT HAVE THEIR NAMES PUBLISHED AS I’VE BEEN TRYING TO FIND NAMES AND ADDRESSES BUT NOT HAVING MUCH LUCK! SHE THREW HIM, SHE KICKED HIM AND SHE CHOKED HIM BUT SAID SHE DIDN’T MEAN TO HURT HIM! BITCH – IF YOU WANT TO TAKE YOUR ANGER OUT ON SOMEONE, FIND ME AND WE’LL SEE HOW THAT GOES! THE OUTCOME IS GOING TO BE VERY DIFFERENT FOR YOU!
That’s it? That’s all you spineless bastards did to the dog beater? Did you take her out to lunch too? Maybe the prosecutor, the judge and the worthless bitch can all go out and have their nails done too!

    • Bloody good summing up. With you all the way.
Could not have said any better myself.
Although I thought this was a bastard bloke!
I like you would like a little time with this cunt of a woman.
I’m certain that she would not be happy with smashed fingers and toes, and a couple of cracked ribs as a bonus!!
I expect many feel the same. This nasty twat really needs to be ‘hurt’ seriously badly!

    • I have a small 3 pound Yorkie and yes she wakes me up i totally agree with you i would hunt some one like this to ends of the earth. You hurt my babies and yes my babies i am coming after you. She got a slap on the wrist and to say she did not mean to hurt this baby. They need to investigate how she treats her kids to when they need her stupid bitch. Also i am glad this baby survived and lives in a loving home but i still think someone knows who she is and where she lives … If i lived in nz i would be hunting her down and making her life a living hell

  7. Garlina Norris says:

Good bye you dirty worthless woman. Your life Doesn’t matter- never will. Do you beat and choke your kids too? I bet you do. Enjoy the pit of hell. You will be there with all the godless usesless humans of the world.

Absolutely No Tolerance Towards Animal Abuse n Cruelty. GOD DOES NOT LIKE UGLY N YOUR TURN WILL COME 10 FOLD… BURN THE BITCH

  9. I have an 11 yr old Yorkshire Terrier named Mister. He’s a foster dog but he has kidney failure so his forever home is with me. He is so shy and timid; the slightest movement or noise will cause him to jump. He is so super tiny, sweet and docile that I can’t imagine how anyone could have ever harmed him. If I bend over to pet him and it causes him to jump back or cower I try to comfort him and let him know that he has no reason to fear me. It breaks my heart and I vow that if I ever find the people who hurt him I would most definitely hurt them back, but I try to keep that to myself bc all he needs to know is that nobody is ever going to hurt him again. People who abuse harmless animals should never be allowed near animals again. I’m glad my Mister was rescued and I’m glad the Mister in New Zealand was rescued; I applaud all the people who dedicate time towards rescuing animals from bad situations. They are true heroes!

  10. Maria Kassomenakis says:

Punishment for cruelty is a must

  11. DEAR GOD, WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS MISERABLE, DISGUSTING, VILE EXCUSE FOR A, SO CALLED, HUMAN BEING.
PUNISHMENT MUST BE MADE AND SEVERLEY. THIS IS JUST GROSS, EVIL AND WICKED.
YOU HAVE TO DO SOMETHING AND MAKE AN EXAMPLE THAT ANY CRUELTY TO ANY ANIMAL IS NEVER, EVER, EVER GOING TO BE ACCEPTABLE.
THIS `HUMAN` MAKES MY SKIN `CRAWL` AND YOU MUST DO YOUR DUTY AND JOB AND PUNISHMENT IS ENTIRELY NECESSARY FOR THIS GROSS, ABHORANT `HUMAN` AND NOW!!

  12. Had an infant , or a child been tortured in this abhorrent, sadistic way the punishment would have far exceeded the disgusting punishment of this offender in this case. I appeal to the court, the judge, to pull down the laws of humanity, and apply them to the criminal who nearly killed this dog, a severe sentence. Animal cruelty laws in New Zealand should reflect what this case really is: a FELONY.

I agree with… RITA VAN EECKENRODE
“DO THE SAME WITH THAT MONSTER OF AN OWNER. HOW COULD HE HURT THAT POOR DOG SO BADLY. HE CERTAINLY HAS NO HART.”!!!

  14. I have a 3 pound yorkie and if some did this to my baby i would use the rest of my life to make your life a living hell, you sadistic a **hole just because this baby used the bathroom on the floor. Your worst than scum on this earth to instead i would have taken you in the middle of the woods where no one could hear you tied you to a tree and poured honey on you and walked away maybe then you could understand the pain this poor baby suffered at your hands, no i am not a evil person i really do not like people who abuse animals, children or elderly people. I pray that some treats your butt the same way, you are a sadistic COWARD…

  15. I am so sick of reading about vile disgusting sub humans doing horrific abusive acts to innocent dogs . Totally unacceptable. These devils need prison time and lots of it . They knew what they were doing to these innocent dogs . Lock them up , take everything they have . They are a danger to dogs and children . If they have children social services need to take them . All other animals need to be taken away .

  16. The charges that bastard got are a complete joke. He should have been charged with animal cruelty felonies, served 8 years in prison with no early parole, and made to pay a $200,000 fine. I really hope someone beats that bastard up until he’s dead. That would be justice.
