Stop Killing the Indian Pangolin for its Valuable Scales

Target: Mr. Bhupender Yadav, Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, India

Goal: Protect the Indian Pangolin by preventing habitat loss due to deforestation and poaching.

The Indian Pangolin, also known as the scaly anteater, is a species that is native to the Indian subcontinent. However, this species is currently facing a critical threat due to habitat loss caused by deforestation and poaching for their scales, which are highly valued in traditional medicine.

The Indian Pangolin plays a crucial role in maintaining a balanced ecosystem by consuming insects, especially termites and ants. This species also helps in maintaining the health of forests by preventing the spread of harmful insects and promoting plant growth. However, habitat loss and poaching pose a severe threat to the survival of this species.

The preservation of the Indian Pangolin requires prompt and decisive action to prevent further habitat loss due to the deleterious impacts of deforestation and poaching. This can only be accomplished by implementing a robust and comprehensive approach that includes strict law enforcement against poaching, prevention of forest encroachment, and the implementation of conservation programs aimed at safeguarding the natural habitat of this magnificent species.

Sign below and demand that India’s leader protect the Indian Pangolin and help to maintain a healthy and balanced ecosystem and preserve biodiversity.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Minister Yadav,

I am writing to urge you to take immediate action to protect the Indian Pangolin from habitat loss caused by deforestation and poaching. The Indian Pangolin is a critically threatened species that plays a crucial role in maintaining a balanced ecosystem and promoting forest health.

Habitat loss and poaching pose a severe threat to the survival of this species, which has already seen a significant decline in population due to these activities. As a result, it is imperative that immediate action is taken to protect this species and its natural habitat.

We urge you to enforce strict laws against poaching, prevent forest encroachment, and implement conservation programs to protect the natural habitat of this species. These actions will help to protect the Indian Pangolin from extinction and preserve the biodiversity of India.

Sincerely,
