Stop Subjecting Bears to Pain, Infection and Death for Their Bile

Target: Mr. Tran Luu Quang, Deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam

Goal: Advocate for the ban of bear bile in traditional medicine to eliminate unnecessary suffering of bears in Vietnam.

Bear bile has been used for centuries in traditional medicine to treat a variety of ailments in humans. However, this practice causes immense suffering to bears, who are kept in small cages and subjected to cruel extraction methods. These bears often suffer from a range of physical and psychological problems.

The use of bear bile in traditional medicine is cruel and unnecessary. There are plenty of alternative medicines that do not involve the exploitation of animals. Furthermore, the conditions under which bears are kept for bile extraction are not only cruel but also a potential public health risk. The extraction process itself can cause infections and diseases that can be transmitted to humans. The bile is harvested through invasive methods such as catheters or surgically implanted tubes, leading to chronic pain, infection, and premature death. Bears are forced to endure these cruel conditions for their entire lives, with no relief in sight.

A ban on this harmful practice is essential in eliminating the needless suffering of bears and ensuring the protection of their welfare. Not only will this alleviate the agony inflicted upon these magnificent creatures, but it will also positively impact public health and safety by decreasing the risk of disease transmission.

Through the ban of bear bile, we can take a significant step towards animal welfare and public health in Vietnam. Sign below and demand leaders take urgent action to protect both animals and humans.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang,

I am writing to urge you to advocate for the ban of bear bile in traditional medicine to eliminate the unnecessary suffering of bears in Vietnam. The use of bear bile in traditional medicine causes immense suffering to bears and poses a potential public health risk. The conditions under which bears are kept for bile extraction are often inhumane, leading to a range of physical and psychological problems. The extraction process itself can cause infections and diseases that can be transmitted to humans.

We must take action to ban the use of bear bile in traditional medicine and encourage the use of alternative medicines that do not involve the exploitation of animals. This will help to eliminate the unnecessary suffering of bears and protect their welfare. It will also help to ensure public health and safety by reducing the risk of transmission of diseases.

We urge you to take immediate action and support the ban of bear bile in traditional medicine to protect animal welfare and public health in Vietnam.
