Target: Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago
Goal: Seek maximum penalty for man accused of sexually abusing, torturing, and killing his pet cat.
A cat was reportedly restrained, sexually assaulted, and then tortured to death by her owner.
Evidence of this reported sexual assault came to light when a third party brought the deceased cat to the Asbury Park Police Department headquarters. While it was clear that severe abuse appeared to have occurred, it was the Monmouth County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Humane Law Enforcement Division that identified the cat’s owner, who was later arrested.
The owner, who is only 18-years-old, has been charged with animal cruelty by tormenting, torturing or unnecessarily or cruelly abusing a living animal resulting in its death and animal cruelty by using or causing or procuring the use of an animal or creature in any kind of sexual manner.

Dear Prosecutor Santiago,

Bani J. Mezquititla Must slowly be dismembered. There is no place for such an evil soul in this world!
If he walks free, the judge should lose his/her seat and someone should do to Bani J. Mezquititla what he truly deserves!!! This sort of crime must Not go unpunished.
Bani J. Mezquititla’s sadistic crimes committed against the cat “Ellie” whom he used as a subject for his horribly demented mind, should be brought to court as a VERY DANGEROUS man. And if the court doesn’t address the seriousness of the case, the judge should be terminated immediately. Bani’s screams should be resounding from his cell for the rest of his life.
Just found out about this crime today on the west coast, I guess it was in the news because he pled guilty this week. I have been devestated and crying. This piece of trash should be tortured and killed exactly as he he did to poor Ellie. Coming here and seeing other people so upset and angered is the only solace I’ve found. RIP Ellie the cat. You deserved all the nice pets and gentleness. Your beyond the pain now.💔
