Goal: Find person responsible for deceased emaciated dog who was dumped in ditch.
The images of a severely emaciated deceased dog caged in its crate and dumped in a ditch are shocking. Authorities were called out to Sawyer Road in Decatur, Illinois when they received reports of this horrific crime scene.
Upon arrival at the scene, agents from the Macon County Animal Control and Care Center were greeted with a truly tragic scene. A brindled larger breed dog (as of yet, unidentified) was found severely emaciated and malnourished. The poor animal was found dead and locked up it a crate, tossed on its side in a ditch.
Officials have not yet determined the dog’s cause of death or the owner’s identity.

Reports indicate that your office is investigating this incident but that no suspects have been publicly identified as of yet. Please devote all resources necessary to find and capture the person responsible for this heinous act.

I will be so happy if one day laws for crimes against animals will be so severe that people will think twice before getting a pet. If I was in charge it would be an eye for an eye situation when it comes to cruelty against animals. I’m so fed up that I wish I could be part of a vigilante group to go after these monsters.

I agree with you 100%! The laws are not strict enough for them to give it a second thought! All they get is a slap on the hand, what good is that? The laws protecting animals are a joke! Need to start a petition for those to be changed now!
I’d be in that same vigilante group, Kate! Animal abusers/killers get off way too easy and they’re never, ever prosecuted like they should be. I’m the eye for an eye person when it comes to animals (and children). We let a guy rent a mobile home from us where I had 3 cats. He said he loved cats but about 2 months later, 2 of them were outside and he said they got out of the dryer vent (the vent had a cover with tiny holes so that was a blatant lie). I threw him out that day and told him if I didn’t find my cats he’d see me, a taser, a tree and a Karma bat. I did find my cats but still have regrets about not following through.
Identical treatment for the monster that perpetrated this heinous crime once convicted beyond a shadow of a doubt!JUSTICE!!!

This is very not typical of this area. There are a lot of animal ‘dog’ lovers in Central Illinois and I am certain people will speak up and not tolerate the actions of this one extremely demented individual. This would have to be a severely sick and disturbed person who did this to this poor dog, and I know that the humane people in this region will not tolerate this. Whoever knows who is responsible, speak out as someone surely knows something and they need not be scared to tell a shelter manager or an animal humane officer who it is, or who could know who did this.
The laws have to be changed if this is to ever end. This made my heart hurt so bad in my stomach. The poor dog he was probably so abused also besides being starved. This sick sob will just do it again he’s probably done it before also. There is no excuse for this horrible crime against God’s creatures & man’s best friend. This as…hole needs to be found and be punished in prison for many many years and have to do hard labor. Come on judges you have to make the right decision. This is so sad. This department needs to find the fucking bastard that did this. They need to put his ass in a crate and leave it outside in cold extreme weather and leave him there til he dies. I agree with Kate and everyone else. I don’t know how much more of these I can look at, it’s so upsetting. I’m to the point where I sign because I hope it helps, but it just seems endless.
