Dogs Reportedly Shot in Face and Beaten Until Their Bones Snapped Deserve Justice

Target: Dave Sunday, District Attorney of York County, PA

Goal: Seek stronger charges and penalties against accused animal abusers and killers.

A miniature dachshund suffers broken ribs and a collapsed lung. A man pleads guilty to beating his pet dog with a baton. A suspect in a different case pleads no contest to shooting his pet dog in the face. These horrific crimes have two commonalities. They all took place in York County, Pennsylvania. And not one of the guilty parties was sentenced to a day in jail.

All three of the guilty or no contest pleas in these aggravated animal cruelty cases resulted in probation. While some of the suspects were prohibited from contact with pets for a period of time, none of them received the kind of penalty that would have really mattered. In fact, prosecutors seemed to go out of their way to drop more severe charges that may have resulted in jail or prison time.

Sign the petition below to demand these legal leaders stop giving violent animal abusers an easy pass.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Mr. Sunday,

A local newspaper article recently confirmed that cases of animal cruelty are significantly on the rise in York County. With the lax approach the legal system is seemingly taking toward these crimes, it seems little wonder that abusers are not apparently worried about a future behind bars. Within the past several months, the York County prosecutor’s office has let a man who admitted to beating his dog with a baton, a man who pleaded no contest to shooting his dog in the face, and a man accused of giving his dog a collapsed lung and broken ribs walk free with legal slaps on the wrist.

Please stop giving out plea and probation deals to violent criminals, as if they are candy. The next time they appear before you, it may be for an even bigger tragedy that you could have prevented.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]

“The more helpless the victim, the greater the crime”. Were these dogs not helpless against human brutes armed with batons and guns? Could the animals fight back? NO. So the punishment for the abusers should be harsher – because they knew better, and yet they still abused the helpless.

    • The death penalty would be quite fair for those criminals.

      • Vince I definately agree with your comment. The death penalty must be these animal torturing murdering lowlife vile and evil animal torturers and animal murderers punishment. Kill the monster psychopathic vermin bastards. All animal torturers and animal murderers must be brought to Justice and sentenced to death.Kill the vile and evil bastards. Eradication from our planet is a must before these psychopathic animal torturing murdering lowlife bastards torture and murder another precious and innocent animal.Kill them.

  2. Stop the animal abuse. They are not here as punching bags. They are created to twach humanity and humility to all so we can co exist peacefully

  3. These arrogant bastards need sorting out with people power.
As the saying goes- United we stand which is the only way these so-called brave fuckers would understand!
All of these tossers are devout cowards who will only hurt or injure something that will not fight back!
Spineless pricks all of them. If the law will not do anything which is the normal case, then these above the law fuckers seriously need stopping with something that will make them think again before injuring and torturing innocent animals.
Sad bastards all of them who will hopefully soon be beaten to an inch of their useless lives. Vigilante groups to the fore although if anyone could get away with terminating these shitbags then so much the better as they would sure not do it again.
And no one would miss the asswipes at all!

    • I have to agree with you….these scumbags, evil heartless wicked humans should get the same treatment they dish out…Rot in hell you evil abuses….God doesn’t sleep..😡😡😡😡

  4. There is clearly a major problem with the legal system in York County, PA (as there is across the nation).Animals are not garbage to be thrown away. These men clearly have anger management issues. No telling what animal or person could be next. Probation? Really? That’s not even a slap on the wrist. The legal system is part of the problem re:animal abuse since they don’t seem to give a lick to penalizing abusers.

    This is so disturbing.

  6. Nena Miller says:

What’s wrong with your legal system? Is the judge friends with the perpetrators? How else could humans get away with such unconscionable acts of violence. Can’t you see how horrible it was for that poor dog to try to escape a hard wooden or metal baton being brought down on him again and again? The other creep shit a dog in his face! The very humans who should be loving and caring for these companions betrayed them in the worst way. Shame on your whole system for not serving justice. I hope God watches over all of the children, animals and women in your county.

  7. Shirley Lemieux says:

Don’t you just love our Court systems? Men can cause permanent bodily injury or death to an innocent pet and the best that Prosecutors can do is Probation? I do not call that a Justice system. I call it a Joke system.

  8. There obviously is no damn justice for these poor animals because of these pathetic, stupid, non-caring lawmakers, judges, lawyers, etc., or these atrocities towards animals would have ended a long time ago. I have no faith in these damn law systems. There should be a thing called street justice now. Name and show these punks that do these things and let them loose to a community of animals lovers and organizations. Let these pathetic, cruel, evil punks have to deal with us. I am sick of the law systems doing .. NOTHING!!! for animals. They are actually helping these pieces of crap get away with what they do.

  9. Why does this happen so frequently in New York? Why isn’t there animal cruelty laws set in place? An animal is as defenfless as A child, baby, disabled, and elderly.

  10. Kathleen BOSSART says:

PUT THE JUDGE IN JAIL AND THEPROSECTING ATTORNEY IN JAIL FOR NOT UPHOLDING THE LAW. WHAT THE HELL IS THE USE OF HAVING THESE LAWS ON THE BOOKS, IF THEY ARE NOT GOING TO BE IMPLIMENTED. NO WONDER WE HAVE SHOOTINGS AND CRIME IN THIS COUNTRY WHEN THE CRIMINALS AND THIS INCLUDES TEENAGERS JUST WALK, MENTAL HEALTH, JUST A KID THE EXCUSES KEEP GOING ON AND ON AND ON. THE LAWS ARE FOR THE CRIMINALS ANYMORE, GOD HAVE MERCY ONNTHE INNOCENT AND LAWABIDERS.

  11. Travis Mitzel, 30, of Conewago Township, This guy has a history of animal abuse! Look him up. The judge there also has a history of letting these criminals walk.
Just last month, Aaron Willis, 44, another animal abuser, hardly got anything.
There’s a growing increase in animal abuse and neglect in York County. This has to stop!

  12. It figures that happened in Pennsylvania. If those POS cowards were released in my neighborhood, justice would prevail.

  13. PA has repeatedly shown itself to be a state with little to no regard for animal welfare. Most offenders just walk away with a little slap on the wrist. It’s about time these wimpy judges in York County realize these crimes are against INNOCENT victims. The judges need to be removed from the bench since they consistently REFUSE to punish these evil humans for the torture and abuse of these animals.

  14. Michelle Mccartney says:

This makes me physically sick. These Monsters have taken an innocent animal and violated them in the worst possible way. An eye for an eye. Their punishment should be the same as what they did to these vulnerable, trusting, loyal & innocent animals. I can’t believe that we as human beings have behaved in such a cruel, violent manner. That we have become accustomed to this kind of behavior. I’ve been rescuing cats and kittens since I was 3 years old.And I got my mother on board and later on my son who has been a vegan most of his life, we along with so many others are I taking on this responsibility because the need is so great and our love , compassion and devotion to this great cause. I ask anyone to reach out however you can. Sign the petitions, donate, volunteer., advocate for this great cause. Why are these cold hearted, inhumane monsters abusing the most vulnerable? Because they can. In the late 90’s, I read a story just like this. It was the 1st story I read of such violence and they videotaped the abuse of this poor dog and bragged about it. They got caught because someone saw the tape and turned them in. Their punishment…… a fine. Now over 20 years later the punishment is still so minimal. These animals deserve justice. It is our duty to protect them any way we can. And the monsters deserve punishment that fits the crime, not a slap on the hand. Don’t let them get away with this.

  15. scotland dream says:

Why do these asshole D.A.s dog wardens, and cops think they do not have to uphold the law? F*kin cop in philly lives across from and sees 2 dogs living in filth, one which has a prolapsed vagina, no food or fresh water in extreme heat and does nothing. Now scum D.A. in york thinking this is ok. Let me remind them all…you are paid by tax payer dollars, you are elected by tax payers and we demand you do your job and step up or be elected out when its time to vote.

  16. Punishment is way TOO LAX — We have IDIOTS in our midst — Animals are LIVING BEINGS — Arrest ABUSERS & throw away the key — mentally unstable — do NOT let them get away with horrors to Animals — they WILL repeat if NOT stopped — think of torment, suffering of vulnerable Animals (who are always at our mercy) — ensure PSYCHOS NEVER again adopt — ensure they come nowhere near Animals

  17. It is unbelievable a judge would allow these cases to go without any meaningful punishment. These men are all accountable and guilty yet the judge did not do his lawful duty in any of these cases. Our laws are state by state which is pitiful due to some states being so lax. Animals obviously need Federal protection as judges are not always up to the job or worthy of their position. I guess Pa. is not a state where these crimes would be considered a felony. I feel ALL abuse crimes need to be felonies. I feel the judge or judges handling these cases need to be fired. It’s the animals who need protection from harm from abusers and failing judges.

  18. Maria John says:

I wouldn’t mind if these disgusting excuses for human beings spend life in prison they ALL should be treated the same as murderers to humanity if they can do it to a defenseless animal who only wants love they can do it to anyone and should be treated as such

  19. Robert Richmond says:

His guys need to have everything that they own confiscated. They also need to see some serious jail time/prison. They also need to do about 25,000 hours of community service cleaning up trash along the highway supervised they should never be allowed to be in public or around animals ever again what a disgrace what a poor excuse for being a human being I hope the judge throws a book at them locks them up in a depot in slings a key out the window.

  20. These evil cretin dog killers must have the death penalty implemented.A slow and agonisng death for these evil cretins is essential.
