Goal: Punish man accused of hurting puppy to fullest extent if he is convicted.
“I am a good man. I didn’t mean to hurt the dog.” Shane Tank made this claim at his pre-trial hearing for animal cruelty. The injuries reportedly sustained by the twelve-week-old dog in question, Pongo, seem to tell a different story. This animal suffered head trauma, lung injuries, and broken bones.
Tank claims that he merely tossed the puppy off the bed after the animal became aggressive. Investigators, however, have stated that the serious harm done to the dog could only have been caused if he was thrown with a tremendous amount of force. The suspect also says that he loves this animal from whom he has been barred contact. Yet his seeming brand of love could have cost an innocent puppy his life before it even truly began.

Dear Ms. Miltimore,
The request from prosecutors that animal cruelty defendant Shane Tank’s name not be initially released to the public signals the potential continuation of a troubling trend in the legal system: the lack of vigilance in holding alleged abusers accountable. Mr. Tank seems very concerned about the damage done to his reputation. But what about the possible permanent damage inflicted to his alleged victim?
Please do not let this case slip through the cracks or fall victim to an overly lenient plea deal, as has happened with so many other similar incidents. Animal abusers often escalate to other crimes, and they present a clear and present danger to the community. Seek the maximum possible penalty in the event of a conviction.

I would LOVE to sign your petition because I love animals…often more than many humans! However, I KNOW what will happen if I do and I don’t want to deal with it!! Sentient suffering has already reached a high level, animals are paying the price for this uncaring society because our government fail them miserable, pleading for a change towards animal cruelty law, yet the government unwillingness is the biggest issue, the ones in power earn a high revenue because of animal suffering, each and every issue of animal abuse is closely linked with the ones that are in control, the local authorities have successfully gathered the evidence yet nothing comes of it, they have given up too, the government’s in power if they wanted to put an end to animal crimes it will stop, but they don’t care.

Nope. Pos did not toss puppy off bed. Threw him on ground or the wall. Years ago we trusted a pos who seemed like a good guy to foster kitten. Claimed kitten fell off table. Kittens back was broken. Found out he threw kitten on the floor and he was abusing his wife. Kitten had to be euthanized. That sweet kitten named Lily is buried in my garden where i place flowers every year.

This was a severe action. Throwing a 12 week old puppy so violently has caused severe injuries. This man needs to face trial. He also needs to have this crime be a felony charge. He says he’s a good man but if he were he wouldn’t have done this to a puppy. Tank has anger issues, brutal anger issues. He needs to work on this. Hopefully he doesn’t have kids or they might be his next victims. Tank needs to pay all vet costs and rehoming costs. He should never be allowed to own or even be near animals again for the rest of his life. He also needs to serve time in prison for his violent actions. Anger issues can be controlled but one needs to break objects
not living beings. There is no excuse for this type of behavior.
