Goal: Give woman prison sentence if found guilty of leaving dogs behind at prior residence without food or water.
Two dogs were allegedly abandoned inside a home without access to food or water. Alyssa Lee Ann Monaghan was arrested on aggravated animal cruelty charges shortly afterwards. She needs to spend time in prison if it is found she neglected these innocent animals to better ensure other dogs will not endure the same fate.
Monaghan allegedly left the two dogs behind when she moved out of her residence. According to a neighbor, the bigger dog was sticking their head out of a broken window and barking. Authorities said that the house was filled with animal waste and trash, and the house reportedly had no electricity. A black and tan dachshund was allegedly found dead on the bedroom floor. The larger dog was also thought to be starving and was given to a family member.
Monaghan is prohibited from owning animals while her case is pending. Sign this petition to demand she receive the maximum time behind bars if it is discovered these animals suffered while under her care.

Dear Prosecuting Attorney Black,
Alyssa Lee Ann Monaghan was arrested after officers claimed she left two dogs behind with no food or water at her former home. She needs to receive the strictest legal sentence if she is found guilty to make it less likely other animals will suffer.
A neighbor told officers that one dog was barking and could also be seen sticking their head out of a busted window. According to reports, the house was filthy and was filled with garbage, feces, and urine. The electricity had allegedly been turned off. It was also reported that a dachshund was found dead inside the house and that the other dog was alive but severely emaciated. The surviving dog was given to one of Monaghan’s family members.
The suspect is not allowed to own or take care of any animals while her case is being reviewed. For these reasons, we demand you suggest she receive the toughest legal sentence possible if she is found guilty of such blatant animal cruelty.

The term is care for other animals, not own. But she deserves a minimum of 15 years. This is attempted murder and she is getting a brak at 15 yrs solid.

To do this is a horrible deed which seems deliberately done and no one should be able to just walk away from this criminal action. How could anyone be so cruel? I feel she should not be around animals or own them for the rest of her life. And I feel this is a felony so prison time is a definite consideration.
No one has the right to do this to any living being. Our laws are insufficient to punish efficiently but prison with that on her record will not be easy for her. After all it wasn’t easy for her dogs either. No one this cruel need ever be around animals, or kids for that matter.

If you own animals, you have a moral and ethical obligation to provide for them. If you’re unwilling or unable to do so, you have a moral and ethical obligation to surrender them to an individual or an organization that can. There is no excuse for leaving them to die. Prosecute to the fullest extent of the law for multiple counts of egregious animal neglect, cruelty and abuse. BAN her from ever purchasing, owning, caring for, living with or working with any animals ever again. Make her pay all vet bills to restore the surviving dog to full health.

Punishments need to be far tougher for people who commit crimes against these animals these are God’s creations and the judges are supposed to say in God we trust which is on our money and trust in God and follow the rules of the Bible and implement those punishments as God foretold them to do and that is why we have such tyranny today against animals and even humans because judges are not passing out severe enough sentences instead, they get a slap on the wrist and when other animal abusers see the lack of punishment there, they think they can just do it because they know that they can get away with it! that’s the problem with our society, our government and that’s why these poor animals are suffering this way

This happened few years ago. Neighbor knew pos left cat in apt.Did not call anyone. It was another neighbor who heard crying. We rescued cat just in time. Old and frail. She lived in a loving home almost two years.

To not be able to immediately take these dogs with her but to return to the empty house to care for them several times per day would have been bad enough BUT to leave them there to die is inexcusable. Make this woman pay for all the expenses to date in the rescue of the 2 dogs. then take her to an abandoned house, shut her in and lock the door without food and water. When she dies, throw her in a dumpster. Nothing else is justice for these innocent dogs.
