Punish Workers Accused of Stomping on Live Turkeys

Target: Mark Schiller, CEO of Hain Celestial Group and Plainville Farm President Tom Donovan

Goal: Fire workers accused of kicking, torturing striking, and stomping on live turkeys.

A video published by PETA has reportedly shown vulgar, sadistic treatment of turkeys at a production site in New Oxford, Pennsylvania for Plainville Farms. In the video, workers are apparently shown kicking, torturing striking, and stomping on live turkeys, who are left on the floor to die after being tortured. Workers apparently grab the turkeys by the wings, a delicate spot, and fling them at each other playfully. This seriously twisted behavior must be punished if proven true.

Plainville Farms provides food for markets such as Whole Foods, Publix, and Harris Teeter. On their website, they declare that the alleged actions go against the company’s morals. They claim that the workers will be held accountable, but it is vital we make certain the company follows through. If these accusations are true, then labeling these products as “humanely-raised” is simply not true.

New protocols should be demanded to limit scenarios like this from happening. Acknowledgement is not enough- demand these workers and supervisors are fired if found responsible and that new regulations are implemented that actually guarantee humane treatment of these turkeys in the future.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Mark Schiller and Tom Donovan,

As you may be aware, recent footage of turkey farms by employees at your companies were released. If reports are true, employees entertained themselves by torturing animals. While it is important to acknowledge any wrongdoing, you must also ensure there are consequences for the workers accused of this abuse. Firing supervisors and workers who allegedly allowed this treatment to happen is an important first step. You should not advertise your products as “humanely-raised” or “cruelty-free” if this is not the case either. Your retailers at Publix, Harris Teeter, and Whole Foods should also be formally informed about this incident.

Please ensure investigations against these locations are followed through and the proper consequences are met. While this video reportedly showing the violence at your turkey farms may demonstrate a single scenario, it is your responsibility to look into all your farms at differing locations. Enact protocols that ensure cruelty does not occur. Consumers and non-consumers alike will be awaiting direct action from your companies.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]

  1. THIS IS PATHETIC, DISGUSTING, OUTRAGEOUS AND TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE — AND IT NEEDS TO END NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND THOSE THAT HAVE BEEN DOING IT, AND OVERSEEING THOSE THAT HAVE BEEN DOING IT, NEED TO BE RELIEVED OF THEIR DUTIES PRONTO!!!!!!!!!

HIGH HOPES, THOSE ARE PECISELY THE ONES THAT END UP GETTING AWAY WITH MURDER …AND NO ONE CARES WHEN IT COMES TO SENTENCING THEM!

  2. Evan Jane Kriss says:

This is EGREGIOUS ANIMAL ABUSE and MUST STOP NOW.

  3. Monica Lee Koski says:

The solution would be to choose not to eat animals. Since it is unrealistic to think everyone will choose a vegan lifestyle, we can all @ least demand that animals raised and killed for human consumption, are not brutally abused and tortured throughout their short lives! The abusers who treat these innocent animals as inanimate objects, without any regard for their pain and suffering, and no respect for life of another living being, should be fired and charged with animal abuse @ the very least! Better yet…shut down this farm obviously filled with abusive, sadistic employees and supervisors!

  4. fire? yeah and then when they’re at home with no job lets stomp them to death.

  5. Sick is only one word I would use to describe those coward POS’s in Pennsylvania for what they did. Their lives should be cut so short. I realize that turkeys are raised to be consumed at Thanksgiving, Christmas, or any other time during the year, but their farm lives should NOT include abuse.

  6. This is deliberate and actually extreme animal abuse. And, like all other abuse, the abusers depend on one principle. They feel reasonably confident that no one of consequence is watching (or will care). And they believe there will be no significant consequences. They must be held fully accountable and brought to justice and face consequences to the fullest extent of the law. That is the only way to impart justice and send the correct message. Any other consideration is irrelevant and extraneous. None of that changes the terror, pain, and harm they inflicted onto defenseless animals. They fully knew what they were doing and derived amusement from the abuse. There never ever is or can be any excuse for animal abuse, period.

  7. It is bad enough that these animals are killed for food but to torture them and throw them around is sickening. Those abusers should be fired and prosecuted.

Kill these S.O.BS. STOMP THEM TO DEATH

  9. These evil severe animal cretins most definately require extermination,.A slow and agonising death for these vile scumbags is essential!

You must implement and enforce animal cruelty.
Fire them!!!? and charge them with animal cruelty with the most severe punishment! DO IT IMMEDIATELY! These are people that will continue to threaten all. THEY MUST BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE! YOU CANNOT TURN YOUR BACK ON THESE POOR DEFENCELESS TURKEYS!!!!!

Really though, they should get stomped on back!! as well….

I agree that all involved should be terminated from their jobs immediately in order to protect Plainville Farms Policies and Reputation. It is better to lose a few employees than to lose loyal customers.

  12. Michelle Stewart says:

They all must be fired immediately. They each must serve 5 years in prison with no early parole, each person must pay a $300,000 fine, each person must be banned for life from owning, working with, or going near any animals ever again. The company must be fined $1 million dollars and fire all those workers. Company must do criminal record checks on every single worker to make sure no one has ever been charged with animal cruelty, torture, or killing. If they find anyone, they must be fired as well. Company must never hire any new people with animal cruelty records

  13. Jaime Perez says:

These disgusting, freaking monsters need to be fired immediately! There is absolutely no excuse for this kind of horrible treatment to innocent animals. The solution to this is to go vegan. Stop eating meat.

  14. The punishment for these diabolical monsters should be eye-for-an-eye justice: I’d gladly help stomp them to death myself. My greatest wish would be for a real life Dexter superhero to administer eye-for-an-eye justice to every single human that causes harm to animals. We desperately need a deterrence to animal cruelty besides a slap on the wrist! As humans, we have an ocean of blood on our hands. The world we’ve created is currently a Hell for the vast majority of animals. Top priorities should be preventing animal cruelty by ending FACTORY farming of meat, eggs & dairy as well as the torture of animals for furs, skins, wool, feathers, cosmetics, live experiments, barbarically inhumane zoos & circuses, countless cases of endless animal abuse & neglect – & even evil👺 ritualistic👹 animal torture! We also have an obligation to prioritize the prevention of mass extinctions & climate change. Ocean conservation & sustainable fishing save vital coral reefs & marine mammals. We should be committed to wildlife conservation & the protection of habitats, ecosystems & Mother Nature’s biodiversity 🌎💚🌎

Those inbred lowlife scum should be locked up with murderers and rapists! They’ll know what it feels like to be helpless! Useless cowards

  16. Carina Lundborg says:

They all must be fired immediately!!!!!!!!!

  17. DO THE SAME WITH THOSE FIREWORKERS BUT WITH BIGGER AN HEAVIER STICKS AN THEN FIRE THEM. AND MAKE THAT THEY NEVR FIND ANOTHER
    JOB. NO MERCY.

  18. Raynesha McGhee-Reed says:

These Pricks Needs 2 be Rotting in Hell 4 This!!!!

  19. Adrienne Kaiser says:

What is happening to humanity?? Animal cruelty MUST be stopped!! Anyone who causes an animal undue suffering MUST be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law or else this type of heinous behavior will continue!! It is up to those who prosecute animal cruelty cases to stop this madness by aggressively pursing and following through with swift and strict punishment of these offenders!! Animals have no voice so be theirs!!!

  20. All involved in these cruel deadly horrors must suffer the same abuse on a daily basis…and be removed from society forever- they are a menace to animals and humans.. IN MY OPINION
