Fire Workers Accused of Stomping on Live Turkeys

Target: Mark Schiller, CEO of Hain Celestial Group and Plainville Farm President Tom Donovan

Goal: Fire workers accused of kicking, torturing striking, and stomping on live turkeys.

A video published by PETA has reportedly shown vulgar, sadistic treatment of turkeys at a production farm in New Oxford, Pennsylvania for Plainville Farms. Despite claiming their company stands for animal welfare, if this is true, it would suggest otherwise. In the video, workers are apparently shown kicking, torturing striking, and stomping on live turkeys. The turkeys, shuddering until their last breaths, were left on the floor to die after being tortured. One worker reportedly goes to the lengths of placing a dying bird between their legs, then tossing it to the ground. The workers apparently grab the turkeys by the wings, a delicate spot, and fling them at each other playfully. This seriously twisted behavior must be punished if proven true.

Plainville Farms provides food for markets such as Whole Foods, Publix, and Harris Teeter. On their website, they declare that the alleged actions go against the company’s morals. They claim that the workers will be held accountable, but it is vital we make certain the company follows through. It is ideal if the companies they provide to, such as Whole Foods, halt purchasing their food until accountability takes place. If these accusations are true, then labeling these products as “humanely-raised” is simply not true.

New protocols should be demanded to limit scenarios like this from happening. Acknowledgement is not enough- demand these workers and supervisors are fired if found responsible and that new regulations are implemented that actually guarantee humane treatment of these turkeys in the future.

Dear Mark Schiller and Tom Donovan,

As you may be aware, recent footage of turkey farms by employees at your companies were released. If reports are true, employees entertained themselves by torturing animals. While it is important to acknowledge any wrongdoing, you must also ensure there are consequences for the workers accused of this abuse. Firing supervisors and workers that allegedly allowed this treatment to happen is an important first step. You should not advertise your products as “humanly-raised” or “cruelty-free” if this is not the case either. Your retailers at Publix, Harris Teeter, and Whole Foods should also be formally informed about this incident.

Please ensure investigations against these locations are followed through and the proper consequences are met. While this video reportedly showing the violence at your turkey farms may demonstrate a single scenario, it is your responsibility to look into all your farms at differing locations. Enact protocols that ensure cruelty does not occur. Consumers and non-consumers alike will be awaiting direct action from your companies.

Sincerely,                                                                                                                                                                       [Your Name Here]

  1. I do pray that all these idiots that think it is funny to abuse turkeys find it also fun when you are in jail and the other inmates beat the s*** out of them. an eye for an eye….there is NO REASON for human scum to ever abuse innocent animals ever…..may all of them rot in hell and always have the pain in their body to remember what they did…..humans that use animals to feel like a “big baller” will pay the price in time..

  2. These vile mentally deranged scumbags must have the death penalty implemented and nothing less. A slow and agonising death for these evil cretins is essential!! I am ready, willing and able to help with this procedure!!!!

  3. You need to fire these SADISTS working for you! How can you even have a conscience knowing this torture, abuse, & cruelty is occurring! STOP THIS NOW! ANIMALS ARE INNOCENT BEINGS AND YOUR COMPANY IS STOCKED UP WITH BARBARIC PEOPLE! Your company is a shameful excuse for human greed at the expense of animals

I urge Whole Foods, Publix, and Harris Teeter to stop buying from Plainville. This ABSOLUTELY disgusting. When people buy a product, they should know where it comes from, and how it was handled. I personally do not shop at any of these stores, and now I never will ,but I hope something has been done to alert them of this sadistic treatment of a live animal raised for slaughter. Go vegan people, and this will be less common!
