Mare Allegedly Left to Die in Bog: Push for Criminal Prosecution

Target: Drew Harris, Commissioner, Garda Síochána, Dublin, Ireland

Goal: Prosecute anyone found to have abandoned a mare allegedly found in a bog where she collapsed unable to stand.

A deeply disturbing animal cruelty investigation intensified after rescuers reportedly discovered a severely emaciated grey mare in a boggy area of the Irish countryside. The horse was reportedly unable to stand and suffering from extreme parasite infestation, dangerous anemia, and advanced physical deterioration when rescuers arrived. Emergency responders reportedly required a coordinated multi-person effort to lift the mare from the mud before urgent veterinary treatment could begin.

Veterinary teams reportedly determined the horse’s condition had become life-threatening because of prolonged deprivation and untreated illness. Authorities are currently tracing the mare’s microchip records while investigators examine multiple addresses connected to her ownership history. The horse remains under intensive medical supervision as rescue organizations continue attempting to stabilize her condition.

Animal welfare advocates argue the reported abandonment reflects a broader crisis involving neglected horses during periods of financial hardship. If substantiated, these allegations would represent severe passive cruelty causing prolonged suffering to a vulnerable animal left unable to escape or survive independently.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Commissioner Harris,

Authorities have made allegations involving a grey mare abandoned in a bog while suffering from extreme emaciation, severe parasite infestation, and dangerous physical collapse. Rescuers reportedly found the horse unable to stand before emergency veterinary intervention began.

Investigators are currently tracing ownership records while examining how long the mare may have remained without adequate care or treatment. If proven, the alleged conduct would represent prolonged neglect and abandonment causing severe suffering.

We urge your office to devote all available resources toward identifying and prosecuting any individuals found responsible for this alleged abandonment and neglect.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]
