Justice for Dog Allegedly Left Without Food or Water for Days in Filthy Apartment

Target: Harold F. Pryor, Broward County, FL State Attorney

Goal: Pursue full prosecution after a dog was allegedly left alone without food or water for nearly two weeks, becoming severely malnourished.

A deeply disturbing case has emerged after authorities allegedly discovered a dog in extremely poor condition inside an apartment where it may have been left alone for an extended period without food or water. Deputies responded to a report of suspected animal abuse and allegedly found the dog in a severely malnourished state. According to officials, the animal had a visible spine, hips and shoulder bones, indicating what investigators described as extreme weight loss.

When authorities entered the apartment, they allegedly discovered floors covered with dog feces and urine in multiple rooms. Investigators also indicated that the dog may have been left inside the residence for many days without basic care. The condition in which the animal was reportedly found has raised serious concerns about the suffering the dog may have endured during that period.

If the evidence reportedly substantiates these allegations, full prosecution is necessary to ensure that vulnerable animals are protected and that alleged acts of cruelty are addressed under the law.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Attorney Pryor,

We write to express grave concern regarding reports that a dog was left alone inside an apartment without food or water for an extended period. Authorities discovered the animal in what investigators described as an extremely malnourished condition, with prominent bones visible due to severe weight loss.

Deputies entered the residence and allegedly found floors covered in dog feces and urine throughout the apartment. Reports indicate the dog may have been left confined inside the residence for many days without proper care or nourishment.

We respectfully urge your office to pursue full prosecution to the fullest extent permitted by law should the evidence substantiate these allegations. Strong enforcement is essential to ensure that animals are protected and that acts of cruelty are addressed with appropriate legal consequences.

Sincerely,
